Thanks Greg. I hope it gives her some small bit of comfort to know that Paul was a very loved member of the stage and we'll all miss him.
I'm very glad I got the pleasure of fishin with him and that he caught lots of fish while we were out.
Thank you Steve for all you do. Not only are you an amazing fisherman/CATCHER you share your time with so many on the water. I know it must have thrilled Paul to feel that tug on his (fishing)pole again.
I want to thank you for all of your posts and (jarheadfishinfool) for starting the thread on remembrances of Spirit of 27. I met with Kathy last night and she was overjoyed to get all the pages of love for canterous big hearted Paul. We shared some hugs and a few tears but she wanted you to know how Paul appreciated all of you, his family.
Cheers folks, tight lines.

If yâall can Iâd like you to share your âSpirit27â engagements and remembrances. I in turn will print them out and bring them to Kathy.
Thank you Robert for posting as your name on the Stage is much more recognizable than mine.
I lurked on the stage for several years. Retired, wanted to go fishing. Hadnât fished in 40+ and was kind of intimidated and found the Stage. As I followed and got to know the âcharactersâ (youâre all characters you know) I met âSpirit27â and âJarheadfishinfoolâ (Paul and Robert) and started engaging offline. I contacted Paul and asked if heâd like to take this 68 year old out fishing and show me how to do it again. He took a chance and we met on the American River with his wife Kathy. Didnât catch a thing but I learned a few things and gained a friend.
I learned more than dipping a line. I learned that Paul with all of his feistiness had a huge heart. In a large part, all of you were his family.
The Stage has lost one of its characters. Please share your thoughts and I will share with Kathy.
Now, GET OFF OF PAULâS LAWN!
Thanks Robert for getting in touch with me. I donât check in to the stage that often, mostly to lurk and wish I was the fisherman that all of you are. Maybe someday.
Paul (Spirit 27) is in really good âspiritsâ but will have to spend a little more time in recovery with that broken hip.
He lost his stage password and his daughter is going to help him so that the stage can return to the âcantankerous Spirit 27â commentary.
Cheers to all, Iâll visit him again soon so that you-all can get your tails whipped.

You know youâre really good when you brag about getting skunked. Wish I had that problem. Happy New Year Steve!
I understand why people would fly fish, itâs quite an art with technique, presentation and all.
So whatâs the advantage, spin vs bait caster? Do they cast farther? Better feel? They sure do look cool Iâll give you that but do they catch more fish or something?
Thinking about stuffing sinkers down the fish. I only caught one, 23â but it weighed 14lbs! đ

It is time for the apprentice to become the master. Did you snatch the pebble from Sawâs hand.đ. Good luck!

Unfortunately thatâs all I would catch, pebbles. đ
Can you imagine that. The greatest bass fisherman in the SF Bay Area is gone, out playing, out of action during the biggest bass tournament!
Steve, are you just trying to share the wealth?
We have some great fishermen here. Time to step up in Sawâs absence.

Let's get out the following week. I have plans for Tuesday and Thursday.
You know what we never get to see after all this fish catching Saw1? Fish eating! Show us the after party! Cooked fish, having fun, laughing, enjoying the fruits of your labor. How do you cook em? We need the secrets and photos!
Show is what you got!!!
Awesome day, awesome pics Jeremy!
Jeremy, Steve. Awesome day. đ
Dang, Iâm not real good at this huh! Each time I try to get rid of a duplicate post it posts another! Like â50 first datesâ!
