Why? They all cheat......just haven't been caught

Not everyone cheats. I've fished a lot of years and a lot of tournaments. Inshore and off shore. Never once did any one I fished with do anything close to cheating. Yes, I have seen it. I know someone who broke a Makos back in 3 places and then stretched it to make the minimum length. I would have turned him in if he had placed. Stealing a win is not a victory in my book but that is who I am.

Like Mooseman65 said, just being there is all that needs to be "said"

Funny as hell BB. Not sure what one I like the best. Sad to think that is what is raising the young.

Pretty sure I'm guilty of everything mentioned. Got a lot better over the years. The one I like the best is, don't go over the fish to get to the fish.

That's correct Phil, most hour meters are connected to the ignition switch, if the key is in the "run " position, the meter is running, even if the engine is not! Modern computer diagnostics can tell you the history of the motor, abused,or babied, overheated, etc. They can do the same in your car, so don't try to BS the service Tech at the Dealership.LOL :-)

I'm one of those techs. When I showed a very angry chief of police that one of his cruisers was shutting off at 123 MPH not at the 75 like the officer said it was our conversation was over. I'm pretty sure the chief had another different type of conversation with the officer.

Nice set up Danger. Good luck with her.
Yes, you are correct about the RPM times. Most hour meters show the amount of time the engine has run, primarily for maintenance intervals. The marine factory scanners connect to the newer engine computers and not only show diagnostic codes and relative running data when the fault occured but also stored information like how long the engine idled, different mid range RPM as well as wot.
Again have all members take a boating course. Primarily for safety but it will lower your insurance rates also. Enjoy your new ride

If they get bored a cutty cabin gets them out of the sun and from under foot. Good place for. who ever to take a nap and not end the day for all onboard.

First question is how do you intend to use the boat?
First boat you looked at was an overnighter/walk around. Great for a day out on the water especially with a family/mixed company. Storage for water toys, dry cloths and a place to get out of the sun if need be. Porta potty?
Now you are looking at a center console. Great boat for fishing with the guys. Tackle and rod storage but not much else.
Wahoos' are great boats. Being a little bow heavy spray rails on the front made the ride a lot drier. As with most center consoles be ready to get wet Especially whoever is sitting in the back of the boat.
If I remember correctly Yami's had exhaust issues in that era so you might want to check on that.
$500 spent on a survey is well worth the money. Remember surveyors know what to look for and are being paid to look out for YOU. Keeps you from asking yourself in the future "why didn't I do it"
No boat does it all so you need to figure out what boat will come the closest to your wants and needs.
Think it through and talk it over with the spouse. She will be onboard too. Go to a few boat shows. Take a boating course.
Have fun, enjoy, but most importantly be safe.
