Agree. We bought our first boat since selling our old tri-hull 15 years ago, and I about fainted at the prices of trolling motors.

Look into watersnake trolling motors. I have one and love it. They are reasonably priced.

Good luck to you. Le boat is a hole in the water that you pour money into and never fill up. Gotta love em though.

If there was a like button I'd push it. I do know how enjoyable grandkids are having 4 myself. Have a great summer as well.

We had a couple of good rains. That’s helped some.

Yes, it has cooled the water down quite a bit, turning the bite on.

Sounds like maybe someone should put a buoy or a jug there to show people where it's at 🤗

It's quite long. Most everyone knows it's there.

Nice catch Wood-E. Just came back from Texas this Tuesday and Henderson and lake Bigeaux appeared to have plenty of water. Saw plenty of boats at the launches.

Yes, there is much more water there than here. With the water as low as it is, you have to watch where you go. There is a sandbar in front of the Verdunville boat landing that will catch you if you don't know it's there. It's about 6" under the water.

On the negative side, an electric filet knife can change a three beer project into a one beer project.

Lol. True enough.

Nice mess of fish. If it was me, there would be an electric knife in place of that manual one in the photo. It took a bit of effort, but once I got past the learning curve, I will never again use a non electric knife on Yellow perch, crappie, blue gill and similar fish. If I am going to keep the skin, I will only scale with an electric scalar. I will say, I did have to replace the cheap plastic guard on my scaler with a metal home made one.

I enjoy cleaning fish. It is gratifying to produce a nice filet. But like most jobs, I am always trying to find a way to do it faster and better. That "better" means not giving up quality for speed.

I will keep that in mind. Thanks

A lot of that depends on where you're fishing. But, fishing from the shore it seems to me, bottom fishing is the best.

Kept 31 yesterday. Don't know how many we caught. We released quite a few.

Go further south toward Port Fourchon. Good fishing down there.
