Going to college even if you don,t finish will be an experience that will help you no matter what you do. If you don,t go you will regret it later , I know I do even though I have employees who did.
New one for me also but makes since. Nature helping them hide from predators. Maybe white or light bait tanks would make them easier for predators to see. And more fish for me.
Not a fly fisherman but for casting and other types I think money is better spent on good fishing line and even replacing that from time to time. Cheap or old line that looks like a slinky when you cast will hurt your catch worse than a $10 rod any day.
All of the reply’s are good advise. But practice makes perfect. I am also a believer that sunup until 10 and 3 until dark are the best times . You will have to learn that bass tap and when to set the hook. Keep trying.
The technology does not catch fish. It might show where it,s best to try. Life is busy and sometimes these machines help make the most out of precious time.
I used to be a Lowrance guy for years. Their help desk went to China, a new shopper can call tech support for any of the big guys and ask for a recommendation. That is what I did before I switched brands.
I have the Garmin 73sv. Has lake maps, side scan, and touch screen. Nice unit
I think you should gut it first. I see what appears to be whole fish in the market that I know have been frozen but they are gutted. When I have sold fish I caught they required I gutted first.
Now that I have a stocked pond I plan to feed them to my bass and bluegill. Should fatten them all up.
I use a swivel to 18 inch or so leader. Try to use the black ones. They keep the line from twisting as the lure spins. But I think using them right at the lure spooks the fish. If you buy offshore salt rigs they usually have a leader with no swivel.
Although they will bite all year, I find they get real active when the water temp gets pass 60. Then they seem to slow done again when the water passes 80. Here in NC that means April till late November generally.
I have it on my new 225 4stroke. I bought the module online for about $170 bucks. Took about 10 minuites to install it. I have used it to track fuel use, max rpm and other things. If you boat does not have vessel view already I think it is worth the cost. I have not yet had an alarm but it should tell me what it is. Might save you a tow.
Part of pond management is culling fish to reduce over crowding. Leaving them on the bank provides food for critters. Or bury them in you garden for fertilizer. Just don,t over harvest.
Gordon is still a good guy, just a heads up to test them in a bathtub or whatever. The lake my boat is at has these free loaner or take jackets and I think it is great.
Whichever nc lake you fish it will be slow. Water temps are down and bites are slow. Sunny days might warm up shallow areas and bass or bluegill might bite worms of live minnows. Should find bait at small stores near the lake. I caught some bass a week ago Kerr lake after a couple sunny days. Rain came and couple days later 0 in the same area.
