A recipe section would be awesome. I think it would be a great idea to see what others across the country are cooking

Knox lake has a lot of shore access if you don’t have a boat. Has a decent population of panfish as well as really good bass.

Hey Pastor John, if you’re looking for bass, another good lake that would be a short drive from Delaware would be Knox Lake. It is just outside Fredericktown. ODNR ranks it as one of the top bass lakes in Ohio.

Welcome Pastor John, There are many outstanding lakes to fish near Delaware. Delaware reservoir is really good for Crappies; Alum Creek reservoir is an outstanding lake for many species, primarily musky, saugeye, bass, and crappie. If you’re looking for catfish, Hoover reservoir has an outstanding population of both blue cats and channel cats. You have the Olentangy and Scioto rivers to fish as well. On the Scioto River you also have O’Shaughnessy and Griggs reservoirs which are ok for bass and host weekly tournaments. My personal favorite of these is Alum Creek, Primarily the north end of the reservoir, where you don’t have as much boat and water/jet skiing traffic. Hope this helps. Good luck and tight lines.

Welcome Matthew, If you are fishing Kokosing lake, I would suggest fishing Knox lake by Fredricktown. It’s just around the corner from Kokosing. Great bass lake and good pan fish (smaller bluegill, crappie, white bass and some yellow perch). The lake has many shoreline fishing areas. Hope this helps and tight lines.

Hey Dan, just found out we are going up to see our daughter for lunch in Hillsdale tomorrow. I think I’ll have some time to scout around. I’ll let you know if I have any questions. Thanks in advance for any help

Thanks Dan, do you know if any of the lakes around Hillsdale or Coldwater are good for Pike? I too, grew up on Lake Erie east of Cleveland nest the mouth of the Chagrin river. Fished for walleye and perch in the lake and smallmouth and coho, then steelhead in the river. Welcome again and tight lines.

Welcome Dan, my daughter is attending Hillsdale College. There are Numerous lakes in that area, and towards Coldwater Michigan. What part of the state are you in? Maybe, when I plan fishing trips to Michigan you can give me some info on the lakes in those areas?

Welcome RBF, I have to agree with Ben, Knox lake is managed for bass by isn’t. They rebuilt the dam/spillway last year. Don’t know how that will affect the fishing, the water was drawn down for quite some time. Looking for cats, I would also suggest Hoover. Good populations of channels and blues, Cut Shad seems to be the bait of choice. Good luck!

Good redfish can be caught from shore behind Port Villas, when the tide is going out. Live Shrimp and a popping cork is all you need. You can stand on top of the concrete culvert and cast out. I think you can no longer fish from the docks, as they are private property, unless you rent one of the villas there. Haven’t been there for ten years, but always did well end of Sept. beginning of Oct. Caught redfish, flounder, and sea trout. Good luck, hope this helps.

Alum Creek reservoir. Check out “Alum Creek fishing reports and photos” on Facebook. It’s full of good info. and guys willing to share info. Hoover would be my second choice, and if you are looking for bass, I would also suggest Knox lake. All three have good shore access.
