38 lb redfish, 18 lb peacock bass, some bull sharks up to 100 lb

I think a spincast reel will basically cause line twist in the manner it takes the line back up. I would recommend try using a spinning reel to eliminate the issue. also dump the line periodically and put it back on the reel to get rid of the twist.

a 5 gallon bucket with a soft lid to sit on . works great and just organize it a little with plastic bags. I have a back issue and the seat is a life saver at times.

I bought one of their 3 pc travel rods and really love it. it seems like a lot of their selection is salt walter related but I was very happy. I also like tackle warehouse and overstock bait. the overstock bait site gets a lot of deals and the inventory changes a lot. I got a 6 pack of war eagle spinnerbaits with a really nice long sleeve shirt for $24.

I have used a thermocell in south America with success as well. however, I have found a good covering of lemon eucalyptus works good for me. it is more pleasant the deet products. I have strong allergic reactions to the very small insects I call no-seums and the lemon seems to do better for me. Good luck and stay safe.
