Wish I still had the balance at 63 to stand on a narrow water platform. More power to you still doing that 75. I understand about the weight. As much as I go to the gym three or four days a week getting my 50 lb kayak on and off the roof of my Escape is getting hard. So I too will be trailering it but I can still get it off the low trailer and carry it . Once that might become an issue, then a kayak cart will be put to use. Maybe in your case where launch fees are ridiculous then perhaps a kayak cart?

As many have said its gotta be user error. I still to this day after hundreds of thousands of casts will misplace because i released my finger holding the line too early or too late. Its like throwing a baseball and letting go too early or too late.
She just needs to point her pointer finger forward at the cusp of the throw. If she holds onto the line at all after its trying to go its gonna yank it to the left or right. Same as if she releases too early. Picture casting right handed from the right side. Release to early its gonna go too far right. Release too late and your holding onto it and its gonna be pulled left. Picture an overhand over your head cast. Release to early and its going straight up. Release too late and your slamming the water. Your finger completely determines the release of line. Stay or go.
A key thing to note here.... the action on the rod will differ this. If you have a rod that has no bend, its a little different than a rod that has a ton of bend. This is referred to as the rods action.
