Pliers on the tv knob because they always broke, not coming home until dark playing, having to do daily chores without getting paid, bread truck with all those freshly baked goodie’s, glass milk bottles on the front porch, getting a swat with a big wooden paddle at school at the v.p.office for getting out of line. Wow the good old days when kids we’re taught to respect their elders, each other and peoples property.parents we’re responsible for their kid’s action’s. When God was taught to mean something. We have for a large part lost our moral compass in this country and it’s sad to see it
Start by getting a map of all the fish habitats installed in the lake, that will give you a good starting spot, then depending on time of year start to branch out, going up river can be good but can also be dangerous so use caution. Miles of tules to fish, tons of rocky points and grass flats again depending on the time of year. Talk to the local tackle shop there, that will help you out
Really tough for bass, they just stocked trout
Tournament fishing for 25 years, San Diego region have some wonderful lakes with a lot of bass. Yes the fees suck but everything here in California cost more, you have Otay which is lined with tules to flip all day, San Vicente which is deeper with a lot of rock as well as submerged trees, El cap smaller lake with rock, lake Hodges which is cocoa brown water with some tules or sheer walls ( can be a very tough lake, but worth the chance of a big one, I have taken 2 fish over 10 lbs out of it), go a little north you have skinner lake and the best lake in the south Diamond Valley lake, very deep and at time extremely good. So take your choice as there is very good fishing in so. Cal
Depends on the thickness of the plastic you are using and the “gap” of the hook, fishing tournament bass fishing for 25 years and have found with the proper hook for the plastic, the hook up rate and landing percentage is about the same to open hook fishing, hope this helps
Been about four weeks since I was there and boated over 20 pounds for the best five fish, good bite
You’re lakes up there are taken a beating as far as water levels again, by the end of summer probably not be able to launch a boat by then, we need more water storage dams and lakes and less crap spending here in Calif, just my thoughts
Thanks Andy
Just got back from 4 days at Clear Lake, what a blast, caught over 100 largemouth bass in those 4 days, no giant’s like I was hoping for but a lot of fun
More then my wife would like to know about, yes when I tournament fish there are that many in the box on the boat, sometimes when the bite is tough or I’m trying to figure them out. I will have as many as 12 on the deck
Could it be that the pastor has had this on his mind and wants to clear the air as well? Just thinking
Yard you fishing for striper or large/smallmouth bass
It would help the guys and gals here to know what your fishing for
Good job ron620, couldn’t add to what you stated
After Owning lowrance errands graphs on all my boats for the past 30 years I have for the first time changed over to the Humminbird products line. Last month just updated my Ranger boat with
A Solex 15 gen3 on the bow
A Solix 15 gen 3 on the console
360 imaging
A Minolta ultrex mega trolling for the whole boat system
There is nothing wrong with lowrance products, there great graphs. But just didn’t fit my needs at the moment
I have run these for a month now and find them outstanding. Very heavy and they use a ton of battery up with the addition of the garmin live I also installed I now need to run 5 batteries in my boat
Just keep the rod bent when playing the fish, never give slack and I agree with the comments above, you need to really set the hook, your feet should almost leave the ground
In answer to the question
It’s like golf clubs! You wouldn’t use a sand wedge to hit a 200 yard fairway shot, and you wouldn’t use a driver to chip to the green.
Different rods for different kinds of shots or baits and different reels for different kinds of shots or baits
I carry 10 spinning setups and 12 bait casting setups in my Z20 Ranger

1. Buy what you can afford ( not what people are telling you to buy)
2. Buy what you are comfortable fishing now,
You can usually get an old baitcaster from someone and practice until your comfortable with it then your ready to buy one
Hope this helps
