There are plenty of utube videos for casting instructions!!!
Back in 1972 I was living in McAlester Ok. It was mid summer and the lake was low. Perfect for frog gigging. My sister would hold the light on the frogs and I would gig them. I was wearing shorts and tennis shoes. I used the metal stringer for the frogs, and clipped the end on my belt loop. It was a good night. We had about 8 or 9 nice ones. We got ready to call it quits and I unclipped to see our catch. To both our surprise, there was a snake attached to the first frog. Scared us to death. I tossed the stringer and frogs and we high tailed it out of there. Later on I thought about it and figured the snake couldn't have bit us while he had a frog half way in his mouth. We were too scared to think about that though. We never waded again for frogs. Now I use a boat and put frogs in a cooler.
Leatherman multi-tool. I never leave home without it.
You just can't beat a chatterbait for coming over structure, like downed trees. Very hard to get snagged. I saw a demonstration at a fishing show. There were 2 sticks in a pool and I tested it myself. I couldn't get it hung. Of course I had to have it. That was 8 years ago and I have caught many a bass on it. It's a must have!!
I agree with RGS. I filet and skin everything. I think it is so much easier and cleaner.
