I also agree. That was my point. When I first got mine it was like new and I really tried to keep it nice. It's 17 years old now and the sun has really taken it's toll on the old girl.
I have always kept it covered when not in use but I use my boat more than most people do.
Now, I just use it and don't worry too much about it.
I really want to get it re-carpeted and maybe even some new seats and a new trollin motor and a new fish finder... then again, I say , do I need all that to catch fish? Hmmm?
How much do you need to spend on all the improvements before you say, Maybe I should just get a new boat.
What do y'all think?

For me I keep em clean and treat em right. It will look really nice in 17 years I am sure but will also need new carpet etc.
I just try to keep up with keeping it new while still using it as intended. A losing battle for sure but that's how I am wired. 2010 Ford 150 with 95,000 on it. 2nd year for my boat. Was out 68 times last year, 21 so far this year.

Well, I agree to a point. People worrying about getting the floor wet or slimed or their muddy boats and my response is "it's a boat - it's supposed to get wet" but outside of that I try to be conscious of taking care of it as it is brand new ( 2019 Lund Impact) - so, a little give and take

Mine is ALWAYS covered. Either in my storage facility, my driveway or on the road. All gear stays inside except 2 plastic shoebox size cases of my plastics which I bring in with me to protect from the heat. Trailers better in my opinion, stays cleaner, less rock dings on windshield. Course I wash mine down each time I pull it out of the lake. Water spot remover and water bottle, long handled scrub brush, chamois and a soft towel and Slick Spray . Vacuum it every time I get home from the water. Keep my stuff a long time and I like it to look and feel new as long as possible.

Anyone have the Pflueger President XT reel? The plain Pflueger President Reel is $59.99 and the XT is $79.99 was wondering what you get for $20.00 more. I have the plain Pflueger and love it, need other reel (really Betty) and been looking at the XT

I have 2 of them and they are smooth and easy. I use braid on mine with a 12' fluoro leader for flipping light jigs, tubes, worms etc. Worth the money

Took my secretary's son out for his first time ever last nite. For an hour and a half. Black and Blue Salted Large size tube in about 4 feet of water with mixed weeds/sand bottom with Bass beds all over. He just kind of "jigged" it a little and reeled in slowly at times - sheer luck but so many fish, was inevitable. I think he had fun :)
Up in Minnesota in the South Metro - Prior Lake area 67.6 water temp. Was on the same lake Friday and Sunday for over 10 hours and saw hundreds of beds and dozens of fish but only caught 2 small ones - think the pattern is changing now :)

I grew up with "arnold palmer" - my dad played 7 days a week, in most every tournament in the state ( won many of them) and started me when I was 4. I caddied by the time I was 9 or 10 ( those old, big tour size bags that I HAD to carry, i could not use a pull cart) I played as often as my day once I hit the caddying age and he was ADAMANT that you always play "ready golf". You walk straight to your ball, make sure you're not in anyone's physical or distraction range and play your ball -we'll meet at the green. If you were close by each other you told the other guy to go first and you were already addressing your ball so you were ready to swing once he hit his. He did not tolerate slow play. Same thing on the green. AS good a golfer as he was he could put a well-placed shot right next to you to "hurry you up" if you were dogging it hole after hole and had no qualms about coming up to you on the next tee right after that shot and asking to play through. If they said no, they got a visit from the ranger as soon as possible. That's how I learned to play. When I host fundraiser tourneys for my Rotary Club or our Education Foundation i Do not sell mulligans as they just add way too much time ( I sat on a par three hole behind 4 groups in one best ball tournament waiting for all the groups to use their mulligans - I bet I was there almost 1/2 hour.)
Too many of these 1 day a week golfers with $3,000 worth of clubs think they're at Augusta, whether playing on a public or private course it does not matter. I will only play public courses where they have rangers now. I have the opinion that many just don't care that they are being rude, it's not that they don't realize, they are just too self-absorbed - I too will spend more time fishing as a result but I LOVE golf!)

Good morning. This will be my first post so forgive my ignorance. I’m 70 years old and just retired. I’ve fished most of my life but never dedicated time to learn enough on electronics. I have an old unit (Elite 5 DSI). I can’t get the map to advance as I travel across the lake. I have COG extension and North up options. Is COG suppose to fix my problem? Thanks

You might try "restore to factory default" and start from square 1.
I spend a lot of time during the winter watching Youtube videos on settings on my units - I figure at some point the knowledge will just settle in and I might find myself actually remembering what the -ell to do :)
Good luck
