Four days of golf.
Went to Myrtle Beach, Legends Resort for the Border Wars Golf Tournament, was on the winning team. Won 3 of 4 matches. But, I'm tired from the outing. I guess at 80, it's time to just play for the fun of it now. I certainly did not enjoy four days of golf back to back. Fishing is going to replace golf for most of my leisure activity. Most of the entrants were in their 40's, a couple of 50's one in his 60's. I guess I did ok, but it was my last tourney, plus I did not enjoy the trash talk and multiple side bets and slow play from the people who thought they were playing in the Masters. The one player in his 20's was very slow, and every other word was f***. I think my name (Grumpus) says it all.

Tip my hat to you for being out there at age 80 and for putting up with the slow play. Back issues forced me to stop but i do remember the slow play. Especially the ones that had to make the 1 - 2 footers like their life depended on it.
Many have forgotten that it is a game not a business and when you are there with your friends for 4 - 5 hours of enjoyment take the dang gimme.

Did you whip his a$$?
Love the game, hate slow play. It is only getting worse with more technology and the range finders, etc. I grew up with only the 150yd posts and I did fine. When they put the red (100), white (150) and blue (200) markers in the fairway it was a great improvement. Then they colored the flags to tell you front, middle and back pin locations and it got better. Now we have a tool that measures to the yard from your exact location. If a player has no idea how far his 7 iron (for example) will go under most conditions...what good is this information? If all this technology does not allow a player to play faster then it is a waste of money. What I need is the tool that tells me “You’re going to slice this one into the pond...put the ProV1 in your pocket and hit a cheap ball!” 😉😂
Sorry for the rant, but you struck a chord. Loved the Legends courses when I played them. Myrtle Beach is awesome, but life is too short to not enjoy yourself. Good luck fishing!
Putt putt is a blast with the grandkids until they figure out why you want to be last.
But fishing with them is even better.

You helped raise them that way, take the credit.

48 too 72 hour wait on the test
Good on you Grumpus for getting out there at 80. Personally, I'd be hard pressed to think of a worse way to spend 4 days. Take away those clubs and bring me a rod. Thank you.

Lack of experience with a stick and balls gets them upset?

The game is not as easy as they make it look on TV, on Golden Tee (in the bar) nor on the Wii

I imagine it wouldn't be just like other things in life take practice and perseverance.

That it does. Lots of unnatural movements combined to move the ball from point A to point B
Great game, though.
However, invented by the Scots, but I don’t know a single one who plays the stupid game. I really think it is Scotland’s joke on the rest of the World 😉😂
