Being from Colorado, my best state to fish, is my own state of mind!!!! Never been skunked there!!
I suggest that you try and find a topographical map of you lake. If not, try using a bobber and jig set at different depth and record the different depth at several different spots of the lake. (better yet, make your own topographical map!)
Hello Bottomcoon,
I know the area well. Spent a few weekends there. I know a few fishermen that had to limit their fishing because of lack of access. We are still working on that one!
The three outfits that I am presently using is.
1. My standard rig is 7 ft. light action rod/2000 reel spooled with 10# braid and a three foot 6# fluorocarbon leader ( for bigger panfish and stocker trout).
2. My second outfit is a 5 ft ultra-light/ 50X reel spooled with 4# high vis monofilament. (for small ponds/creeks and smaller fish)
3. My final outfit is my 10' float rod/2000 reel spooled with 10# Fireline tracer and a three foot 6# fluorocarbon leader (just because I loved bobber fishing as a kid).
I have attached my three primary setups. Smiles and fins
Hello Buddy,
Welcome to Colorado Springs, lived here for over 25 years. There are some great fishing here within the city limits (if you like lake fishing). There are also great areas outside of the city.
If there is anything that I can do, advice on fishing locations/favorite set-ups/fishing report....
OIf I can help in anyway let me know. js
It depends on the conditions/the water/the environment/etc. Here in Colorado we are like to use powerbait natural baits (salmon eggs and/or worms) fished on a Carolina rig style, especially in the cold months.

Hello Spirit,
First THANK-YOU for responding. The mission is accomplished, connecting with other fishermen
Sorry about your wife, but I understand. Mine can't stand fish hooks (not a good thing married to a fisherman).
What I am interested in mostly, is an exchange ideas. What works for you (can I work for me)? What works for me (maybe useful in California). What is your biggest issue?
Finally , in the spirit of information exchange I have attached my three favorite Colorado outfits. Looking forward to hearing from you. js
Hi Guys:
My name is Joe Sowell and I'm from Colorado Springs, CO. I am a multi-species angler focusing on pan-fish and trout.
Out of curiosity, is there a favorite trout or pan-fish set up/outfits that you like?
