Do you have these in other coastal states? We call them ghost shrimp and we get them at low tide in the mud in the bay. We use a vacuum pump to pull them out of the holes. Very good bait, 50 per day is the limit here. They are about 2 inches long.
We have them in Alabama. Like someone said there hard to keep them on a hook.
Don't get a longer rod that you can handle. The guides act like ball bearings on a rod, the more the better, to a certain degree. On a 12' rod you will need at least 12 guides.
I'm looking to buy a longer surf rod so I can get a little more distance. I'm looking at different rods with different amounts of guides. What is the general rule?
