Finesse fishing is all about the rod
So the reel does not matter much really
However I have Pflueger Presidents on my Avid and Legend series StCroixs and very satisfied
PS
I also use fluorocarbon line on them
[quote=FS Digest]Titles says it all. I’m close to purchasing a St. Croix spinning rod. Somewhere in the 7 foot range, medium fast. Just wondering if anyone has any real world experience/suggestions on other rods I should look into.
Looking to pair it with a Daiwa Exceler LT 6.2:1 EXLT250
I have a St Croix Legend Series 6ft Medium Fast
Best rod I own!
And I own lots
Let her snap
You only go get one spin in this game
If you like the Avid series you should treat yourself to a Legend series
They are a couple of steps up
I have both
I bought the Avid 6ft ultralight this past spring for crappies
I throw 1/16 oz jigs with 3lb fluorocarbon
Talk about sensitivity!!!
St Croix Triumph is one of their low end rods but for that price I would buy them ALL !
But that’s still an excellent rod for panfish and trout.
I use their Legend series and love them!
I’ll rather ice fish than fish from a boat when it’s that cold on open water
Just can’t get warm in the boat
We have a foot of ice on most lakes and a foot of snow on the ground
Hope your worms are wearing long johns
Where can you get crawlers this time of year?
My Old Hummingbird 3D Wide with side view is over 20 years old and still runs great
So..... I thought I should stay with what works
And besides you can’t couple a MinnKota with a Garmin or a Lowrance
What is wrong with them?
I’ve heard the same of Garmin
I want a Hummingbird Helix 8 and couple to a minnkota ulterra
Any body out there have any comments?
Thanks
You’ll be fine
It’ll probably make you stronger
