Probably goes without saying, but take any medications you need along (Extra might be a good idea). Pair of binoculars and of course a good camera. Sun Screen. Good luck!
Fished Pine lake, a little south of the Dalles a couple of years ago and did well. Nice spots for the kids to bank fish from and decent sized trout.
Wow! I can only wish for such nice weather. We're still a few weeks away from Spring here in the Pacific Northwest.
Boat gives you better access. Check out Lyons Ferry State Park or Lyons Ferry KOA. Both nearby. Month of April is prime time for theses fish in the Palouse. State park is right next to the confluence of the two rivers.
Wonderful pics...thanks for sharing!
Where the Palouse River meets the Snake near Lyons Ferry is well known for catfish. Also several areas along the Snake river. Baits vary, but generally speaking the Cat's aren't too particular. Last time out I used a small strip of Steelhead, but Crawlers, Liver, catfish baits you can find at sporting goods stores, all should work
Look up Pine Lake, not far from the Dalles. Nice lake for trout.
Not sure if this will help as it's in Washington, but where the Palouse river dumps into the Snake is well known for catfish.
Dark blue. Had to come up with something different, didn't I?
The Smith River used to be known for its striped bass. Not sure if that's still the case, but would think so...
Its been awhile, but there are several lakes available to fish nearby. Check ODFW website for weekly updates in your area.
Haven't been there in many years, but East Lake and Paulina Lake used to produce excellent trout fishing and not far from Bend. Certainly worth checking them out.
