I’ve got a lure cut and ready for a paint job, I’m going to give it silver sides with scale pattern and a white belly what color should I paint the back. After decided ( most suggested color) I will finish out the lure and pitcher it.

What kind of fish do you want to catch with it? For musky paint it dark green to mimic a northern pike. Musky love eating northern. Twice I have had them take good size northern away from me!

Dark blue. Had to come up with something different, didn't I?

Violet would be my choice Mike. The Mardi Gra Mirrolure is my go to with using that style.

Hey Mike, how bout red? You can also try yellow or light green for the belly and light or dark purple for the back.

I agree with Hack. Black seems to me to be good.

I like the dark blue. Just painted one that way. Used silver on the belly with a hint of chartreuse along the lateral line into a dark blue. I still have the tape on the bill. I think I went a little too dark on the belly but wll give it a try.
