Took my son to Bass Pro and got him one of the cheaper bait caster reels. He’s thrilled to get out there and try it. :)
We use the smallest hooks and pieces worm. My son has caught up to 40 in a single day. He couldn’t catch anything else. :)

I use a 50 year old spinner that was my father-in-law’s. Doesn't throw as far as my son’s, but I feel happy using it.
I plan to take him over to Bass Pro. He actually knows more about fishing than me. I love going out with him. Just wondered if some Baitcaster reels might be easier to use than others.
Looking to reward my son (12) with a Baitcasting reel for his awesome report card. He’s been wanting one. He is a great fisherman and I’d like to get him one that is reasonably priced, but will last him for a while.
