[quote9th=plumbob]I can relate to your headache, but only to a Yamaha that i once owned that bees would make mud homes in.
I was just playing around with U tube, but can't narrow it down yet. So I will check back in the morning to see if you get more replies and then proceed further if you don't get an answer.
If you can take a pic of the outside and inside post it here it would help.[/quote]
I will try
not good with phone/ computer.
No tiny pieces that flaked of impeller.
It is a 2016 4 stroke 5 horse mercury outboard.
My question is can the metal peehole be removed? I didn't see any way to remove it.
Thought if the pee hole fitting could be removed from the engine block the trapped pieces in the water jacket could pump out. The actual hole in the pee hole assembly is very small and won't let the small pieces of the old impeller out. It plugs the hole. Can clear with piece of wire but will replace again later. Don't want to cook the motor. Trying to avoid dropping the lower unit again as we have already replaced the impeller and reassembled everything.
Can you remove tell tale from the motor to flush out water jacket as impeller pieces flacked off and plugs the pee hole? Any info will be appreciated as I just bought the motor and has no manual.
Thanks a bunch Scott for the info. I really appreciate it.
Someone said bass should get going soon. Strippers being first. Is there Crappie fishing there like Alamo?
Thanks again and tight lines!
