Hello everyone and thank you for joining me again today. For those who have been following these devotions for a while, you know we have been doing a series for the past dozen or so weeks called, “Our
Daily Walk With Jesus”. In this series, we have talked about how we, as Christians, can stand up for what is right and true (Dev. #22),
what we can expect to encounter along our walk (#23), who our main ally is (#24) as we learn to recognize who our enemy is, and how to defeat him (#26-27).

At that point, we switched to the more positive aspects of our walk with Jesus, and touched on the “how and why” of the basic blessings (#28) we are given for our obedience to Him, as well as the “curses” (#29) for our disobe-
dience. In Devotion # 30, we gave a more detailed explanation of how we obtain our salvation, which is a free gift from God, based solely on His grace and our faith in Him, and how that is different than the blessings we receive from Him, which come from our obedience to Him.

Our “assignment”, as Christians, is given in Devotion #31, then the next two (#33-34) are basically summaries of the previous 10 devotions.

Today and next Sunday we will be wrapping up this series with a two-
part devotional, including two short
(~28 min. each) videos each week. This final topic is “The Benefits of Serving Jesus” and will give a more detailed overview of the blessings (such as a new kind of life) we receive here on earth, and our rewards we WILL receive in Heaven, for the works we have done on earth. The Apostle Paul spoke of these rewards in his letter to the Christians at the church in Corinth.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is not a judgement to decide a person’s final destiny, as that is decided by each individual’s choice they make while here on earth. Those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior, will be the only participants at The Judgment Seat of Christ. Those who have rejected Him, will be the participants at The Great White Throne Judgement.

“And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from His presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭20‬:‭11‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The following video sermons are by Pastor Allen Jackson. The first one is titled, “The Benefits of Serving Jesus”; the second is, “Ready for Rewards”.

Just a quick report on the HOFNOD tournament. We started around 0530 moving gear from the club to the park that was headquarters. These bikes were some of the main prizes, along with boogie boards and lots of of fishing gear and STUFF. By seven we had a line waiting to register, while the guys were setting up the 100 rods and reels that were given to the first 100 kids who registered. We actually had three left over at the end. They had stations available where we could teach them to cast, tie knots, the State Police flew in a chopper, local police had representatives including the mounted unit and a bunch of other stuff. Sent the kids to the beach to fish
At the beach we ran it just like a regular tournament, except we measured everything caught. Skates were one point, everything else was point per inch. Took up about three quarters of a mile of beach so each judge (my job) had a couple hundred yards to cover. This fish was measured and went home for dinner. Others were released. After two hours of fishing they went back to the park, everybody got a hotdogs and chips with a drink and water ice, and a prize ticket. They had prizes for the most and biggest fish by age categories and some gift card prizes to some local vendors for parents. Big thanks to the high school kids who volunteered there day to help out with lunch

Well guys, Brad and I went to the Napa today. Even though the Pet is on fire we decided to take a break from trollin and go to the Napa and cast lures for a change.

As you know Rich, George and I caught 48 fish on the Pet on Thursday. Well today on the Napa we didn't even come close to that number.
HOWEVER, we did catch 29 and only maybe 5 of those were shakers, under 18 inch fish.
We were letting 4 and 5 pound fish go just so we could keep fishin. We even had 5 doubles on today.
Brad caught a few more than I did but I still caught my share and we just had a phenomenal day of catchin.
We probly lost 15 fish before they got to the boat and we had so many missed hits we lost count.
We started fishin bout 0800 and quit at 1100. So we really just fished bout 3 hours. So that's roughly 10 fish an hour. Not to bad.
I took 2 pics. One of the 4 fish we kept and one of the many keepers we threw back. That one was bout 5 pounds.
The 4 keepers were one 8 1/2 pounds two 5 pounders and a 4 1/2 pounder.
I'm takin tomorrow off but back out there on Monday and somewhere on Tuesday.
Well guys, Brad and I went to the Napa today. Even... (show quote)

Well, it's been a long day for an ol'fart! We left this morning for Caledonia, we visited with some friends and our old neighbors. Met the new priest, and visited with him for a while, went to mass, stopped to catch a bite at a local bar/diner met some more friends, and then we came back home. Now it is time to say good night.

Your bedtime story:

How do you make holy water? Boil the hell out of it!

Have a good evening, folks.

Greetings all. Taking the boat and the kids up to Jackson Lake State Park later today and have never fished there … just boated/tubed/swam. It’s a large pontoon but I have the ability to troll.

Any recommendations on how best to fish this lake? I normally fish for walleye at Cherry Creek and do a combo of some trolling with crankbaits as jigging with bait blades. Any areas to focus on? Any areas to avoid getting frustrated because prone to too many snags?

Don’t need to be catching keepers. Just would be great to catch fish to keep the kids happy. Thanks for any and all advice. Happy fishing.

Not in Flagstaff. Low 80s and upper 70s by day, 55-60° at night. It was perfect! Anything south of there is a whole different story, though. 112° in Phoenix. Eww.

I saw where they had 110* or more for like 16 consecutive days.

No, I haven't, they do sell a lot of it up here, it's on tap in most places. It's an ale, and I'm not big on ales. I do have a 6-pack in the garage that a friend gave me, I'll have to give it a try.
