I am brand new to fishing. I am learning from books and YouTube. I have a rank. Beginner question. Do you tie all the parts bobber, weight, lure or hook with bait onto the line on your pole and then get in the car etc? Or do I create this assemblage and store it to attach later?
Cannot thank you enough for being our long distance teachers.

For me, I have my two-piece rods together, all tackle attached, from home, going to my fishing spot. Will leave everything attached when returning home. I can fit up to 9’ rods inside my vehicle comfortably, down the middle of the seats, without the tips hitting the dash. I put a sock with a rubber band around it on over the rods tips in case they would slide forward, do not want scratches on the infotainment system screen. If I am going out in a boat, all rods are in the boat, two-piece rods together, all tackle attached. If you have multiple hooks on your line and are concerned of hooking into things during travel you can put those hooks into a piece of cork or styrofoam (both were already mentioned in this thread), I use styrofoam at times. Hope this info. helps and good luck fishing.

I see you are from West Chester, my son attends WCU, it is a nice area and University.

DVTracker thanks and I'm sure he most likely said Marysville. I don't always hear so well. I appreciate your advice and will pass it on to my friend. He's been Googling away so this will hopefully be familiar for him. 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲

My boats rebuild and upgrades are complete. I picked up my boat this afternoon and was pretty darned happy with the end results. From the new Fulton Winch and Ultrex to my two Helix 9’s and 10 with Mega Live. These are all upgrades that should work well for me for years to come.

Looks great! You have a nice setup and should enjoy fishing off of it. Thank you for sharing.

Anyone here going just got boat all good to go for next weekend.

Nice boat, it should be good and steady with room to move around. Stripers are biting here in the east, hopefully at the Havasu Derby too, good luck.

Hey guys I've got a friend that will be hopefully fishing this area on the Susquehanna. He'll be there early July. Any info on what he could expect fishing from a yac? There's 47 piers on the bridge that should hold something right? Any advice on where else close to that may be a gem. Baits, and what fish he could expect to catch? 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲

Many fish around Harrisburg, not like it was years ago, but still good. As Grizzly 17 said Ft. Hunter has a launch and Harrisburg City Island, but there is also one in Marysville (not Maysville that is in your title) on the west shore that will get you close to the train bridge. In one below pic it shows up-close that location and the other pic shows both Ft. Hunter on the east shore and Marysville on the west. Haven’t fished in that part of the river for a few years, but lower down the Susquehanna I have caught many small-large mouth bass, catfish and carp. I also have a pic of some bass lures that work well, especially the hard bait crayfish. If you have not used Google Maps with satellite view to look at fishing areas, launches…give it a try. Go catch something!

You could catch them all on live worms here too, but not usually on fat plastics, that require the angler to provide the action.
We get Pike and Pickerel up here on anything you throw. Crankbaits, Spoons, Spinnerbaits, Topwater lures, and plastics.

I had just caught a Largemouth on the Rapala, and was moving out to an island to try for more, and figured it was a shallow runner so I would drag it behind the boat while I putted out to the island, and the Eye came up from a deep dropoff and whacked it.

Overall, it sounds like you are in a good fishing location, a bit harder to catch pike and pickerel here. I guess that’s why a lot of people here say they are going fishing and not saying they are going catching…lol

The Trout and the Crappie were the biggest surprise catches.

I was thinking the opposite because I have caught trout, crappie, and large-small mouth bass on live nightcrawlers, but never a northern.

You caught the walleye on a rapala, but supposedly walleye like night crawlers, but I have never caught one on a crawler.

Northern Pike, not a Musky. Yes it is.

Oh ok, that's awesome how you caught different species on a Dinger, thank you for the info and pic.
