You can book a total of 4 in advance. Whatever you like. Four days in a row if you want. Weekend booking are 4 hours each. Weekday are 8am until dusk.

I’m a member and book once a week. I have a weekday membership which allows a full day booking as one trip. I can book a maximum of 4 trips, so once I come back from a trip I book the next one 4 weeks out. Never had a problem booking. My only complaint is that they close down Oct 31st in NY when there’s still good fishing. I wish they would extend it to Nov 30th.

I was snorkeling in the Caribbean years ago and a massive school of small cudas swam by. They all stopped to check me out but kept their distance. They’d back off as I got closer. A very cool experience. One to remember.

Just a quick word of appreciation to the group. Your heartfelt thoughts and prayers mean a lot to me. We “fisherfolk” are a tight group, even though many times we haven’t met. I’m amazed each time I’m surf fishing or out on the boat and start chatting with a fellow fisherman. The bond we have, even as total strangers amazes me. I’ve struggled for weeks about posting this, but I finally decided I could use as many prayers as possible. I’m going thru chemo therapy for prostate cancer that has metastasized to my bones. Bone cancer is incurable, so it’s just a matter of time. I can’t read about it anymore because there’s no good news. Hopefully a magic bullet will come along in time. At 70 I’ve had a good life but was hoping for more time to watch my new granddaughter grow. Sorry for sounding morbid about it all. I know a good attitude will help but right now I’m pretty down in the dumps and beat up from the chemo. I still want to get out on the soccer field and referee like I’ve been doing since retirement, and drum in my classic rock band. Of course, wetting a line again is top priority. That’s it. Hopefully I’ll have some good news in the future.

Depends on the fish, even with circle hooks. Ive had fluke mouth a bait numerous times until they take it. If you try to set on the first nibble you could lose the fish. Now blues just hammer it. Blackfish are an entire different thing. Its all about the feel and what your fishing for.

I fish saltwater, off jetty’s or bouncing stuff off the bottom. I use a stronger leader because of the abuse it takes.

And in California hooks have been known to cause cancer 😁
