Lake level is up.
It’s full. Water temperature is still cold and nothing is biting except a few catfish at night.
Even the yellow perch aren’t biting and usually you can’t keep them off of the hook.
We crabbed and fished Winchester Bay today
We got zero
Chalk one up for the crabs and fish
The Umpqua they’ve caught a few and they run the Rogue first
It’s cool
Especially because you made it.
My Dad used to make his own.
They made cool keepsakes when he passed away and they caught fish.
I’m on Tenmile lake now.
Nothing biting.
We did catch 1 catfish last night.
Tenmile lake Oregon canal is full of Crappie.
They like shallow warm water with lots of vegetation. Cold weather they are hard to get
A eel Wiggler would be close as well and you could reshape the head if you wanted to
My Dad always fished these
And it’s a similar set up. He called them cop cars.
It looks like a metal flatfish style spoon and a spinner lure or Wedding ring flasher Attached.
It looks like he took a flasher from a wedding ring setup and another lure. Drilled a hole and put them together
Never fished it but crappie are simple.
Ron a yellow or white crappie jig.
I usually tip the hook with some worm.
Put a small bobber 2 to 3 foot above the jig.
Cast by trees or vegetation.
Pop the line a few times and let it set
And repeat.
Works great and easy to rig.
I usually use white with a red head
I’ll have to try it.
I have a home in Madera Ca
A home in Winchester Bay
And 1 on Tenmile Lake Oregon.
Nothing fancy but we travel back and forth. When we take the 101 I go through Clear Lake and I always say
I want to fish it.
I hope you catch a bunch of fish.
We’ll be at Winchester Bay during that time frame
So far
Not much biting yet.
I’ve never fished Clear Lake. I’ve driven past it many times and it looks impressive. I heard it’s pretty shallow.
I’d imagine great bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill etc.
I hope you guys do great!!
Good morning, I’m heading back to Winchester Bay Wednesday. I heard some people are getting limits of crab but not very meaty yet. No reports of any fish at all except the bait and tackle shop owner has caught a few Striper. Does anyone know if anything is biting. I haven’t heard any reports of Spring Salmon yet. I was thinking about pulling some lures and live bait really slow and see if I can get anything. I’ll probably head out of Salmon Harbor and up the Umpqua into Reedsport and mouth of the Smith.
Any pointers or ideas?
Thank you!!
