5 is the standard daily limit unless a particular water body has a separate limit. Best bet is to pick up a 2023 Oregon fishing regulations pamphlet, they're free everywhere

Stocked rainbow trout is the main catch at Detroit. They do stock thousands of trout a year and there so there are many large holdover from the year before. There is also a good Kokanee population. Never caught a perch or sucker out of Detroit and never heard of bass being in that lake as it is too cold.

If you're fishing from a boat you can't beat trolling a spinner or wedding ring with either corn or a worm trailer

As a veteran Detroit lake fisherman, the most reliable setup I use is a sliding sinker on the main line then a swivel in about 3 ft of leader. For bait my go-to for Detroit is always the tiny little cocktail shrimp and a miniature white marshmallow to float it off the bottom. It's a little early to fish off the dam as water levels have not come up yet. You'll find good access at other spots around the lake since his Detroit lakes State Park and the area by the Mongold boat ramp. There are other access points you just got to kind of hunt them down. Once the lake is full you cannot beat fishing off the dam at first morning light.

Welcome sportsqueen. All spring salmon run so far I've been disappointing everywhere. If you want to keep updated with what's going on a good spot is at MYODFW.com fishing reports. It's updated weekly and a great source is all fishing information.

I grew up in Gresham and my father and I used to dip smelt every year. Been many years since there's been a good smelt run in the Sandy, this is awesome news.

Go to MYODFW.COM and look up fishing reports, then go to Willamette valley region and it will give you all the stocking information for the area. I just looked it up and according to the website it was stocked this week

In Winter and early spring you'll find Walter worth park behind Walmart on Turner road and walling pond on mcgilchrist just east of pringle getting stocked on a regular basis with hatchery trout. Power baits works well, my go to for stock trout that almost never seems to fail is tiny little cocktail shrimp with a miniature marshmallow.

Thanks johnlmac. I had thought of the same thing, thought someone might know if some places I wasn't aware of that are possibly less crowded.

Hello everyone and good fishing to you all. Getting prepared for late March and early April surf perch fishing and looking for suggestions on location, rigging and best baits. Will probably be fishing mostly around the Lincoln City area, both north of it and South. Anyone have any good advice and suggestions? Any analysis will be appreciated.
