I often wanted to try one of those bait casters, everytime I do for one I hear all the negatives about them.
I bought a few of those Zebco rods, 5' and good old Zebco 33 reels. I can cast them and get them back under brush and low trees along the bank.
Maybe Santa will bring me my first bait casters.... maybe I just need to try one for myself.

My wife is already asking when am I going to fish. Geeeee, she must really love me.

I like fishing for them native trout, January and February are good times as long as it don't put the snow down, I'm good to go!

Cold up there Huh?

Yes Sir, it's a little chilly but I checked and water came up 2' or so and it's not really dirty so tomorrow may be a good day. As long as that stinking wind isn't blowing at 15 - 20 mph.
Water temperature is still pretty decent.

Went to put the yac in this past Saturday and the whole end was covered in about an inch of ice. So I trailered the yac home and stripped it down for winter storage. Guess it won't see water till hopefully next April???? This past year I fished around some parts still covered in ice in April . Let's hope for an early spring... I have a little TIP to pass along. As I was separating my daily use tackle box it occurred to me that I would be putting quite a few frogs in one big plastic storage box. So the tip is.... I sprinkle a little baby powder in and shake it up to lightly coat all parts . This prevents the silicone legs from sticking(glueing, melting) together as sometimes happens with spinner baits especially if stored with plastic trailer baits still on. I have a small collection of spinner baits in baggies with powder on them as well . Keeps them fresh as new . Hope this helps someone save some bait from ruin! ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Thanks for those great shots. I do feel that winning smile only sets off those beautiful fish. Have a wonderful Christmas and be safe on the water, seems you've already got the "stay warm part" taken care of. Greeting from cold windy NW. PA. Good time to clean ,sort and make out that special list of "things I just gotta have". Peace, Love, and Joy to everyone.

Thank you Andy!
Same to you and your family.
Could y'all keep all those who are experiencing these nasty storms in your prayers.

Thanks again and God Bless!!!

Grizzly, it went from about maybe 3' to 6' or so.
I sat back at the head of the eddie and fished towards the peir and off the sides of the swift water, in to the calm stuff. Fishing slow retrieve and they were hitting them.
Way it looks in the forecast waters to come up few feet. I like that cloudy water

Good insulated coveralls and determination!
Seen our forecast, looks like it's gonna start getting colder. As long as the edies don't freeze up that's where you can find me.

I use to not mind the rain J but when I passed that 60 something mark, it doesn't make for a good day.
My wife always said if I can fish and hunt in it,.I can work in it.
It's a little different now.
Yes, keep that line wet and tight!!!

These pictures are from a few days ago but hope you all are done chasing them deer around and getting the line wet again.
I do believe if the weather holds out like this we are in for a good few weeks of bass fishing yet.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Santa brings you your favorite gear.

Got out for some fishing this afternoon, much too windy to take the boat and so fished from shore. Landed only 4 cookie cutters 10.5-11โ€ but will make due for tomorrowโ€™s lunch. Pretty cold out there as well, never got above 35* and with the wind was not all that comfortable.

Nice catch, I need to find a place to get in to them.
