I'd like to have back my 1990 Olds Bravada. It ate me alive with big-ticket repairs, but looking back I think I should have put a different engine and tranny in it. Maybe Ford - ?
I've always suspected that the folks down at the Oldsmobile division had already seen the writing on the wall and weren't trying anymore.

You could be correct. Oldsmobile wanted to move forward and learn from any mistakes on the Bravada. Heck I do that, I have an idea and see my way clear and half way through it I say what the heck am I doing and scrap it.

Looks like Jeremy made a good topic and it's been a pleasure reading all the posts. I wish to expand on it if possible.
What car would you like to have back in your posssession? Or what car would you like to have now that you didn't have the opportunity to purchase?

I have a 07 heritage softail. Don't ride as much as I use to. I'll attempt a picture

I've only owned 2, a '78 Yamaha XS750SE, and my '05 Nightrain. Still have both, but the Yami is collecting dust in storage. The Nightrain is still active.

Here in California, our genius leaders have decreed that in 2035, it'll be illegal to sell new gasoline fueled cars. They're hell-bent on making us all electric. That's kind of a one-size-fits-all approach to our vehicular needs. So yeah, An older car in good condition is going to become priceless!

One size fits all?

Yes in deed. As will lawn equipment in less than two years. Problem is forcing gas powered cars and everything else out with gas prices, could go up to $50 per gallon or more.

Your far from being nuts. I see it the same way. If I was in the market for another truck I would jump on it. When I purchased my 2014 f 150 $16,000 was my down payment. That '72 f 250 is bulletproof.

My 2003 f150 has the 5.4 l engine and it's been a great truck. 275,000 miles on it. Head gaskets at 200,000 is all that's gone wrong. I take real good care of it and I plan on getting 350,000 miles on it. I'm keeping it in spite of what my wife says.

I'm getting real close to making a deal on a restored 72 Ford F-250 for $16,000.00. My buddies are like "are you nuts?". I just reply "that truck has been restored one time since it was new 50 years ago. Would it make more sense to spend $80,000.00 on a new one that might last 5 years before needing a total rebuild and still be all plastic and not have near the power the old 72 had from the factory?". They're like "🤔you have a point".

This is a tactic being used for many consumer products today.
It's all a way to control.

Yes I think we all understand that. The same goes for milk and dairy products in the 70s. The price doubled because of a so called shortage but I remember seeing a tanker truck dumping his entire load of milk in the desert.
