The California state record is just over 60 pounds. Never heard of a fall run on this coast. You can catch stripers year round in the Feather River - I know that from personal experience, I've fished for years on the Feather. But. The only time your gonna catch the really big mama stripers is in the Spring - that's when they come out of the ocean to spawn. Stripers are not native to the west coast, they are transplants and definitely one of the most successful of all transplants. The bays, and the rivers that feed it are full of them year round - you can find spots where you'll get bites on every cast. Shakers they call em, and for good reason. But they have to be 18 inches to keep em. We are blessed here - stripers, salmon, steelhead, halibut, and some of the best bass fishing in the world. Hey, I'm goin fishin!
