The California state record is just over 60 pounds. Never heard of a fall run on this coast. You can catch stripers year round in the Feather River - I know that from personal experience, I've fished for years on the Feather. But. The only time your gonna catch the really big mama stripers is in the Spring - that's when they come out of the ocean to spawn. Stripers are not native to the west coast, they are transplants and definitely one of the most successful of all transplants. The bays, and the rivers that feed it are full of them year round - you can find spots where you'll get bites on every cast. Shakers they call em, and for good reason. But they have to be 18 inches to keep em. We are blessed here - stripers, salmon, steelhead, halibut, and some of the best bass fishing in the world. Hey, I'm goin fishin!

Hey Pirate, just giving Danger some facts to shut his buddys down. There's actually a bigger fish caught and released in VA like a year ago. IGFA hasn't received all the documentation to certify a new record. The new problem is we have a slot length on the Atlantic Coast now, and can't legally keep anything over 35"long, even Record fish.

All good..fred fish...thanks for the pic I was curious to see just how big these guys can get to...if I ever get out there gonna hafta upgrade my gear for sure..tight lines brother

Me and some buddies decided to rent a charter a few years ago for the autum run.....did pretty good....cant remember the weight of the bigguns...

Wow...looks like a great day of fishing to me! I took a group of fourteen people out of my bar and we chartered a trip in mexico.good time was had by all. Forty bluefin...about seventy yellow tail.. and a handful of mahi mahi(dolphin). But I like a three person charter better...you get a more personal trip and the capt shares a lot of fish info...you know I picked his brains dry๐Ÿ˜
