Thanks Fred. Yeah buddy, top water! Best way to catch'em for sure! 😉
Great time fishing north yesterday and today. Caught both of these big girls off Buzzbaits early.
Is that the fish or the bait. LOL! Glad you enjoyed yourself and got after it :-)
For bass low light hours. Early mornings and late evening. Top water lures a dark and light color like black and chartreuse and/or white. Soft plastics. Stick to the basics. Green pumpkin, chartreuse, black and blue colors work great in murkey and stained water.
Try checking out Bassboat4sale.com
They have stuff from all over the country. You can set filters for what you're looking for. Also, another option if you know the make of the boat you're looking for join a FB page for the manufacturer and you will find tons of listings for sale.
Ben, you and I must have a lot in common. You're spot on with the jerkbaits being perfect on the 6'6. Funny you took the words out of my mouth, but I didn't mention it in my first message since he said he fishes from shore, which I'm sure you know makes it a little tougher jerkbait fishing, not that you can't do it from shore but definitely not the same!
I actually prefer 6'6 rods most of the time. I have found that having the right reel with a silk spool can make more of a difference on casting distance for me. Just because you have a longer rod doesn't necessarily mean it's going to cast farther than a shorter rod. The reel can really make all the difference in my opinion.
Yeah I hear ya, I was actually thinking about a used one. I've seen a couple 2019/2020 rigs nearly fully loaded for $10k less than a new one.

Good tips Greeny and Check Mark on all the above. I've done most of the research and they top out at about 60 with a 250 HP fully loaded which is just fine for what I do in tournaments. I also like the fact that they hold two and three Bank on board chargers together which is nice for additional battery power for electronics etc. Not sure on the live well capacity though will need to take a look at that. Outside of that storage and space as well as proximity to the water when fishing from the bow or rear for a coangler seem solid!
Thanks for sharing NoCal Steve, I have never heard of VIP but did take a quick look at the website and doesn't seem like they have much for bass fishing set ups. However, you're right about the fish and ski, most freshwater boat manufacturers have them but they are often not of bass style if they do. Stratos did have one at a time, but to your point, they no longer make that brand.
Thanks for the input. If I go with a Lund it will definitely be the Pro v BASS style boat they have. My passion is around bass fishing for sure, but the deal breaker with wifey was that it has to be something the whole family (4) can enjoy for rides and fun! With that being said, so far I think this might be the best option that covers as much as the best of both worlds. I done a lot of researching and everything else just seems like it has too much of a Deep V style for bass fishing, or too much of a shallow water bass boat with no or limited family-like amenities. I also looked at a few fish and ski models, but most of them don't pass much of the test for bass fishing, and the one I saw that does (Nitro's fish and ski) seemed like it was made cheap, and I didn't really care for the look or walk-through windshield.
Thanks for sharing Green! I appreciate the detail and comments.
