The trip is not going so smooth. Didn't get here until late lasst night due to RV mechanical problems. We were lucky todsy to get the parts in spite of crazy holliday traffic. I spent the ret of the day playing mechanic. Hopefully the RV will get us to Long lake Friday then Back over the pass. I walked out on the dock after dinner to make a few casts, but got hit by a cold blast of wind and rain. Thunderstorms predicted tonight and Sunday.I spent some time talking to the local guide. He said the thunderstorms are killing the bite. He fishes for the big rainbows, so I am not sure if it will effect our pursuit of Pike, Lakers and Bass. We did pretty good on the pike and bass last trip. Just got some good advice from 67Mustang, but we seem to be having trouble locating early morning on our alarm clocks. Hopefully all will go well. I can finish the mechanical work I paid someone to do but didn't. And we can get out early in a few days. If not, lightning is always fun to watch from inside. We don't get much of that in Blaine, Wa.

If you have never been to Priest Lake it is worth the trip. Not too far from Pend orielle. Good Mac fishing and the kokanee are the biggest I've seen.

Safe travels and give them hell.. lol.. I am heading that way on the 18th, sadly not to fish.. hunting for property..

All my family is still there, but Maine is where my kids grew up and are raising their children. I never really ruled out going home but the church decided to build a cemetery. So I had to decide where home was. I bought the plots so I guess this is Home now. About the only time I make it back there is for funerals😊 I am close to salt water with striped bass instead of salmon. They are pretty similar as gamefish. I sustain myself with memories and a couple of facebook groups about the PNW.

Well put... I like strippers too..used to catch them in the delta near Sacramento ca..

Nice catch. I probably drove by while you were on the water.

I think I’ll break out the new, to me boat, and see if Lk Samish will give up some of its bounty. I’ve never fished anything but stream and rivers so this will be a great advent for me

Come on down... I am on samish right now..

Beauties! ...and they look great on the grill too! Is Lake Samish stocked or are those beauties indigenous?

As I understand it.. the Kok's are planted once a year, but spawning does occur .. the cutthroat are native..

Heading your way in July. Any advise? Where? When? Do I need boat?. Bait?

A boat or kayak is the main ticket.. however bank fishing on the east side along the frontage road for trout or bass is were I see folks.. most other places are private..
