Good luck, hope you get em. The fall bite is definitely picking up, caught a couple keepers recently, smaller 19" and 20" but it's good to be catching something for the griddle.

Just bought a little boat too so time to explore the delta soon.

Finally caught my 1st chinook of the year! Garabaldi, OR. Smoked and in the freezer or given away. Going drift boat fishing on the Wilson River tomorrow. They're catching chinook and releasing chum. Wish me luck and same to you!

Awesome fish and thanks for sharing! Welcome to the stage.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Hope the ribs are better. I can only assume the drought has to end sooner than later. I usually always catch fish, I don't always catch keepers but I almost always catch something.

Then I'm bait fishing with every frozen bait I can get my hands on. Striper bite is picking up. I can rid ya of that skunk. Less'n it piggybacks onto me 🤪

That's just 1 of the fish I didn't catch when I fished Eufaula in August. The man is to be congratulated because most people could never boat a fish that size.

True that. I couldn't imagine trying lug that thing onto the boat. Not sure if I could. That's a monster.

In an attempt to rid myself of cabin fever I spent most of last week in Payson,Az. with a friend from the Stage. Besides being the perfect host, Jim Sargent, taught me how to catch a Largemouth Bass. First ever on a drop shot with a worm...... Now I know how come y'all are so avid for catching them. A whole lotta fun!!!!🎣👍 Thanks Jim.

Nice catch, thanks for sharing. They are super fun to catch. Now that is why we are all addicted to the thrill of the catch.

Nice story and thanks for sharing the catch. Looks like it was a hard earned catch and just what the Dr. Ordered to take the mind off of life and work.

Hey buddy. Both Rio Vista and Antioch are proven spots for catchin good fish.
I would call some of the bait and tackle shops.
One of the best for that is over in Oakley. Hook line and sinker.
Should be able to google it and get the PH# Good luck.

Thanks! I'm gonna give that place a holler.

I don't think you're gonna find the really big stripers until spring - that's when they come up to spawn. The really big ones are hens and they hang out in the ocean til they get horny. But. The salmon run is about to begin, may have even begun over west of Sac. And there are some big catfish out there, right where you're already fishin I imagine. And don't forget the sturgeon. You want to tackle one of those from the bank? Grass shrimp and patience. Hold on tight.

Thanks for the info. I like where I fish but its been rough. I'm gonna start targeting salmon more locally Got a bunch of different flying C's and assorted spinners. I do want to get out to some deeper water areas though.

What are cats biting on? I get an occasional cat on accident with my sardines. Should I use a short leader to target cats at night?

Can't do it better than that. Other than poles and fuel, the fish were as economical as it gets, great catch!

Hello ladies and gents,

I post in here a bit. I live in Elk Grove. I normally fish the delta. A couple spots in Walnut Grove and Sac where I can fish the banks but recently the bite is tough.

I have the gear to fish anywhere, (almost anyway) and I am willing to get my happy behind up at 3AM to drive a couple hours so I can still get the early bite.

Any advice for Bigger/Deeper water? Benicia? Antioch? Rio Vista? I need to get on some big Stripers or Salmon, ASAP. Looking to get out this Saturday.
