Don't know about other state's I haven't fished. I try to keep up on Ohio an I'm sure other do the same for the state they fish 👍

I look at other states as I travel to other places to enjoy fishing and eat a few of what I catch. It has been several years since I have kept a limit of few. As I can catch few each day if need be. Doing a fishing guide service and taxidermy. Sometimes bring different species of fish back are no in my state.

Maybe everyone, if you like to brag about all them bags of fish in your freezer?
In Minnesota, we have a TIP program, ( Turn In Poachers) that includes the meat hogs that keep over the
possession limits, state has in place to protect the resources. These people that do the
turn-in can receive money for this. I am also a paying member of the this to help provide funds,
and information. I have not taken any money, but the MN DNR has sent me signed water color art work.
which are even better then the money. As I count the fish in the photo, is over the limit for himself.
He makes NO, Zero point that he had another member fishing with him. another then the guide,
maybe the guide caught all the fish, and gave this guy all that where caught.

I never do mail-in License renewal, as the government will take their time getting it back to you. Mail-in is the last on the list of things to do. When they decide they have time, not as a do fast for your service.

Always, Always, do the walk in. I had to stay out in minus 15 degree to get mine done. But that 15 minutes of standing in the cold was worth it. As to to wait two months for the license to come in the mail.

Seems not a single person caught the idea about my post. How many fish does your state allow you to have stored in your freezer? After my own research, seems some people may need a visit from US fish and game officials. Mind you these visits happen where people least expect it. State game and fish wardens could show up at 5AM. along with local police, not only do they go thru your freezers but they also take all the meats in the freezers to check what is stored in there. People that have their freezers checked need to file a report to have the meat returned.
POACHING, IS ASLO THE PEOPLE KEEPING MORE FISH THEN LAWS ALLOW.

The action figure item is funny. If bluegills even got half of what your actin figure shows. Stay out of the water,
as I have had 3 inch gills draw blood when they would nip at my leg wader fishing.

Does your state have a possession limit? I can not image having 100 crappie in a freezer. Then it is to have the fish not get freezer burned. Even keeping fish in a air seal bag, they will still get freezer burned as air seeps thru the plastic.

Having been in the BWCA several times, 1/8 & 1/4oz jigs, twister grubs are best lures over all. White was ours best color. If you want lots of pike, uses Mepps and Spinner blades, or spoons. I have done great fishing bass around rock areas, casting jigs during the day. During low light periods these same lures will get you some walleyes for a meal. Several areas with sand, weeds or wood will hold walleyes and bass also. 3 inch grubs and other baits in that size, have more chances of getting bass.

As a former Cabela's employee, I sold lots of locators, for the bass fisherman, Humminbird will be you unit, the
side-scan is a major plus for locating areas for fishing. Garmin has the best for Pano, Lowrance, is the best down image. Bird has side-scan. As a fishing guide I went from Lowrance to Humminbird, the side-scan and auto-chart systems are great for finding those out of way spots others drive over. I have also just purchased a mega-live.
Find the areas, then you narrow down the areas to spots, and spot on the spot.

Maybe do as I do with gaff tops, throw them in a sack, much like the large onion sacks, tie it closed and throw it over the side with the fish in the sack. Tie it off and drive a bit and all slime will be washed off.

Have not tried putting pike in a sack to wash them off. I do know from taxidermy that borax powder does help in removal of the slime. For my fishing guide service in Minnesota, pike can be a fun time, although most people are looking for walleye, Pike can make for a really good second for a fish fry. The current regs, in Minnesota vary in location to the size and number of pike allowed. two/thirds of the state has a 10 pike limit, but only 2 can be
over 26 inches in length. also Pike measuring between 22 and 26 must be released. Most people will not deal with the 20 inch pike, mistake on their part as many will keep a 8 to 10 Crappie over a 19 Inch Pike. Each have a 10 fish limit.
I can understand the Slime dogs, as some of us have called the smaller Northern Pike, [ Snot Rockets,]{Bait Stealers}. Pike can be both fun and a bad thing for lakes, several will blame other species of fish, But Pike are the over top predator. No matter, Above them are Muskies. We speared 38 inch pike that have eaten 22 inch pike. Also pike that have four, 11inch walleyes in their gut.

Hip waders, come in two forms, Stocking foot ( which require a outer boot / shoe) or boot type. The boot type, you only use your foot ( NO Shoes needed inside).

I use a heavy tow to pull on the wench connection, where I can back boat into the water, boat floats off the trailer. After a year plus of the rope being under the boat, towed down the road. Cleats are not an option, anchor ropes can not stop a 2000 plus lb boat moving back and then being towed back to shore. People have no idea, how I launch, no docks during November. They have been removed for winter.

As for the wader question, sneakers are not for inside hip waders. You can purchase stocking foot waders, then sneakers go over the wader.

Inch and a half??? That’s a big rope. Must be heavy. You must have a big boat. A ship maybe…

I tried smaller ropes but had a 1/2 break, boat floated out. lucky for me it was a channel where I could walk around to retrieve my boat. I do a fishing guide service with a 18 ft Ranger, 690t series. Here Walleye is the fish of choice, and the late season open water, early ice is some of the best walleye fishing during the fall. Our walleye season ends February 28, unless border waters.
Open water fishing in cold water, takes a different type of launching your boat. If super cold, below freezing, when you pull trailer out of water it's not get water on the ramp as ice forms, and your rig could go bloop, bloop, bloop.
