I been using moth balls for years and never had a problem, I know, never say never. Also a friend of mine told me he uses the toilet deodorant bars under his camping trailer to deter the mice. Give them both a try. Good luck.

Yea, I’m with you on that, while I’m bass fishing I lose a lot of lures to pickerel and pike.

I also use my bass rig for pike, I do very well using a 1/2 oz. spinner bait, my favorite colors are black and white.good luck. I also throw Johnson weedless spoons, I also used white pork rind for a tail but it’s hard to find, you can cut strips out of a white balloon which replaces the pork rind.

Don't know much about New York steelies, but if they're anything like west coast ones they love roe, so a roe imitation. And then there's the universally fish-attractive wooly bugger. Both drifted under an indicator, maybe even at the same time? If the water's clear, lighter colored ones. Muddy, darker. Go catch some.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try.

I’m heading up to the Salmon river in New York to do some fly fishing for steelhead. I’m basically new at fly fishing for them, anyone have any suggestions as to what would be the best flies to use? Thanks and tight lines to all.
