No salmon and no bears! But beers would be a good start! Beautiful Lake.....hard to fish! In fact , chances are the fish would leave you alone to enjoy such nature has to offer!

First of all....I live near there (like you) and you will never see a temperature of 72 degrees in late August! Outside air or water temp. Second it is the "dead sea"! But the lure of choice for locals is a green pumpkin worm on a "shakey head" jig. Fished reeeeeeal slow! Where do you live Just1? I'm in Towne Lake.

Went Cichlid fishing in Everglades two yrs ago. Had a blast with a cane pole! Some are huge. Drop down a hook with catfish bait and "hang on"!! One even broke a number four hook. Also caught a mess of LM Bass on crankbaits same day. A friend asked a Game Warden if he should throw them back and the Warden replied "If I see you throw one back I'll arrest you!" Invasive species, proliferating like crazy!

Sorry Eye-C not today! I just got back from Alatoona. Took two dozen large minnows (No shad available) went downlining for stripers. Got one bite in 5 hours! Water temp is 80 degrees. I drifted through numerous schools of fish with no action! The "dead sea" reared it's ugly head!

I'm going out to catch some food, tomorrow but I'll throw back all the "babies" in your honor, and so they can grow up to be caught again! It's called fishing! FYI I have never fished for or caught a sturgeon. But I did my best trying to avoid getting killed by them while fishing in the Suwanee River. I witnessed 6 to 8 footers jumping out of the water. Look it up....people have been killed by them. Knocked unconscious from their boats. Or just killed outright. fwiw.
