Wonder what our Iowa Farmer user has heard about that.

I loved the joke. From the Postal side, there are over 3500 Postal workers bitten by dogs in the US every year, plus some cat and various other pet bites. Letter carriers typically move fast, and reach to hand mail to customers that dogs take as aggressive behavior. We have weekly safety talks about dog bites, and all carriers are required to carry pepper spray and/ or dog horns as well as training in defensive use of their satchel. Addresses with aggressive dogs are marked on the carriers case, and the scanners they carry can be programmed to alert them while on their route.

So great to hear, Leo! I know what a relief that can be for both of you. Continued prayers for the recovery period.

Welcome back Farmer been a while since we heard from you how's your crops hope you missed the hail

Missed the hail, almost missed the rain, too. We had .49 last evening, but we are so dry everything looked dry this morning. Corn is still looking good, my late planted beans (memorial day) are having a tough time catching up with the moisture. Hoping this weather pattern changes, or it will start cutting into yields very soon.

Hey Myron, I like your new Avatar, cool!

Thanks, Leo. Yeah, most things are over priced around Iowa City. Too much university money floating around. Gas is 10 cents higher than Cedar Rapids, 30 miles away. My wife and mother used to make a killing selling selling bread at the local farmers market, university types will pay anything for something different.

I was picking strawberries this morning @ 7:00 am. I like to pick them before it gets too hot. It's 92* @ 11:00 am. The patch that I picked in was a new one and the barries were not good-looking berries, but they only charged me a buck a pound. I picked 14 #s, that was enough. It took me 45 min. to get that many, normally I can pick 15 #s in a 1/2 hour, if they are nice big barries that are jumping out at you. They charge 2.75 for those. Being the tight a$$ that I am I took the cheaper route.

Wow. My wife and daughter picked some Friday and they were $5.25, second picking!

Thank you Sir! I wanted to show some respect (not just to my Country) but to the previous owner also. I hunted for two years for a clean F350 Dually with the 7.3 PSD.

My wife and I took a rental car up to North Liberty Iowa in June of 2018. Steve, the previous owner was a Vietnam Veteran. Steve said “Glenn, you should probably change the back window shade, it’s getting kind of ratty, I just couldn’t bring myself to change it”

I changed it about a month later and sent a picture and letter to Steve saying “God Bless our Veterans!” 😁

Hey Glenn, if you brought I380 up to North Liberty you passed by my pond on the way home. South of Iowa City on the west side of 380. I think I've seen that pickup before.

Just checking for any fishing reports, will be there this coming week.

Son in law was there this week, targeting crappie. The males were fanning the nests in 2-3 foot of water. Hope that helps.

Welcome, Brian! I'm too far away from you to be of much help, but you can go to the Iowa DNR site and subscribe to the weekly fishing report for information on each area of the state. I hope you enjoy this site.
