Hum, home made Suppressor sounds like a good idea. I'm shooting with a flashlight so there's just enough light to see in through a scope. Whatever I come up with I'm at war with Armadillos and it's 2 to 0 now.

[quote=Fredfish]I was thinking more of a head shot, or a gut shot when they stand up. You're probably right about the heavy shell. You could always make a home made suppressor.[/quot

Maybe a pellet gun would do the trick? I used to have a. 22 caliber one that was pretty powerful. Definitely quieter than a. 22 rimfire.

Not sure a pellet would penetrate that tough shell. These guys are tough, the one I shot last night, dead center, made it a good 75' down in the back yard before it expired and I'm using hollow points. Maybe one shot at a time won't bother the neighbors to much it's an acre on the side I'm shooting. Luckily I'm shooting almost straight down off the deck so no stray bullets, the only two shots I've made ended up inside the target.

Nice catching Mike! Sorry to hear that you're still suffering from that nerve issue. Good luck with the Neurosurgeon, I hope he can help.
I didn't know there were Armadillos in Tennessee. I thought they lived in a desert climate. Good luck with them buddy.

They really just arrived in the past few years and they are a nuisance to say the least. I've spent the past couple nights up to 4am just to get a shot at them and I'm running out of steam.

Went out for a while last night and had a really good night. Caught 12 and lost 8 because still can't get the hook set with the pinched nerve in my neck. Only took a few Pics but had some nice ones. Supposed to see a neurosurgeon tomorrow see if he can help out with the nerve thing. Hope he does better than the last two DR.'s I've talked to. the last gave me an epidural injection in my neck. While it helped some my arm and right hand are still numb with some really intense pain to go along with it. Good to get back out for a night, and it was a pretty good one.

If anyone has a trick for getting rid of Armadillos please pass it on, I've tried live traps with no success so I went to the 22 rifle. killed two so far but shooting at 3 in the morning might get the neighbors upset, would like a silent way to rid the yard of these intrusive rascals, they've dug my yard up like someone been there with a tiller.

Glad to here from you Mike Ivey, I hope your Back is being taken care of my Friend 🙏🤙

I'm still in the process of paying all the doctors to get to the doctor I really need to see. It's a racket, they gotta try an epidural injection before referring me to Neuro. Epidural didn't work my hand is still numb so I did an end around on em and got my Chiropractor to refer me to the Neurosurgeon I wanted on the 23rd. It's such a waist of time and my health to get thru the system.

No machine can replace 1 exceptional man!

Bad enough you had to deal with shingles all that time.
Now this good luck Ivy đź‘Ť

You said it Griz but at least I did get some epic fishing last fall, winter and early spring. Just hate I'll miss night fishing season this year, maybe next year.

Same here. It was like any position they needed me in was very painful. It kinda felt like Arnold Schwarzenegger was pinching my neck as hard as he could the whole time i was in there. The nurse had to help me sit up, I couldn't move.

I have never had to take a test over again, just couldn't lay still. Mine was a stabbing pain right where my neck and shoulder meets. I can only hope my fix goes that well, I'm figuring October before I get back out fishing. I'll miss all the night fishing again this year... At least I got the winter months, my favorite time to fish right after night fishing.

That sounds so familiar, buddy. I was talking to Myrna just a week or two ago and asked her what they’ll do with the titanium when I’m creamated! I don’t think it will melt…?
I also use “all that metal” as an excuse for my weight gain! 🤣
(I’d laugh, if it didn’t hurt so bad!)
I just hope they can get you out of pain soon; that pain can be so debilitating. 🙏🏻

Ha, So that's why I weigh heavier than I think I look... I'll be using that line myself..

Sorry to hear Ivey. Hope you get it solved. Bone chips can move around and pinch nerves. Good luck friend. BTW on Tuesday I had a severe fall when my sons dog ran by me to greet my great grand kids. Hit my right knee and I fell and hit a corner China hutch with my right shoulder then banged the wall with my head. Four hours in ER. CT scan showed no concussion or neck damage. Just a knot on the back of my head. Xrays of my five year old titanium shoulder showed no fracture or dislocation. That's good news. Bad news, I still can't lift my shoulder. My right hand tends to go numb and stiffen up if not used for a while but will wake up with massage and flexing it. See my PCP at 3 pm today. Probably will require PT. Hurts like h***. Of course I'm right handed. Please pray for me. Praying for you Ivey. Keep us all updated.

Prayers coming your way, I know about that stuff hurting, a quick weather change sets mine off.

Sad to hear your diagnosis, Ivey. I hope they can repair it easily. I’ll be praying for you. Please keep us posted…
I feel for you, having had back issues myself. I had a fusion done on L-3-4 and it made a HUGE difference! 🙏🏻

Randy I had L3, 4 and 5 fused in 2003. Mine didn't go that well, spent 3 years in a wheelchair and still have neuropothies in both feet and lower legs. I expect this one to be much more successful, whatever they end up doing.

She checked me for metal today with a medal detector and commented, you've got a lot of metal in your back. Titanium doesn't affect the MRI thou, not metallic. Told the wife to scrap me out for parts when I pass.

Well the MRI went terrible, laying my head all the way back pinches that nerve. Feel like a knife stabbed in my shoulder/neck and someone is rolling it around. they had to take one round over again so it lasted longer that expected. They finally got it done and I'm home with ice on it now, hope I don't have to do that again...

I didn't think Tellico was affected very much? No hydro electric plant right? But thats a very good point, winter is an excellent time to become familiar with some of the structure, thanks

From the TVA lake info it looks like Louden-Tellico pulls down around 12 ft. during the winter. I know some of those lakes like Douglas pulls down close to 40 ft during winter draw down. Very good opportunities to take a camera and mark spots on the GPS.
