Buzz bombs. Early morning for silvers and pinks. Check regs. Might be barbless in your area. Not sure about cutthroats.
I agree with X-cel-Woodworks. A 10’ won’t track worth a darn. I have a Jackson 12’ cruise that I love but unfortunately I have to sell. I was crabbing on it last year when I had a stroke and now my wife says I have to sell it and get a motor boat and a fishing buddy. No more solo trips. I’m back to 100 percent by the way. Check Craigslist in your area for a used kayak.
Talk to John at Brians Sporting Goods in Sequim Wa. Really knowledgable about all things fishing. Former guide. Silvers are running right now. Yeah.
Olympic Peninsula. Halibut. Salmon. And Dungeness Crab.
I used to fish Camanche,Pardee, and New Melones a lot but now I fish the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. Good luck at Blodgett. Let us know how you do.
You brought back some great memories. I use to fish the Broad river near Bat Cave when I was young. Great trout fishing. I live in Sequim Wa now. Going over to Port Townsend later today to throw in a crab pot and a fishing line to see if I can get a flat fish or maybe a salmon. Miss WNC a lot. Congrats on retiring in such a beautiful area.
I’ve never fished Blodgette but I would suggest going 30 minutes south to Rancho Seco park. It’s on 104 off 99. Costs a few $$ to get in but it’s worth it. Good for both bank and kayak fishing. Your grandsons might find fishing by a decommissioned nuclear power plant interesting.
