What are good baits to use for the fall time.

for bass, there's nothing like a slow troll with a 6"-9" shiner.

I I've several books on knots, ive recently learned a knot that is stronger than any knot ive ever seen, the Palomar knot won knot wars 2 years in a row this beats the palomar every time. One of things this knot does when testing, when the line breaks, it breaks mid line, it doesn't break at knot, and the mono is completely destroyed from stretch, I've never had another knot display this strength, it actually is stronger than the line. I might be able to explained how to tie this knot in text if anyone is interested...

TO: FGHINKLE...

On December 28, 1990, Los Angeles detective, Robert Crupi set a line class IGFA world record largemouth bass on a 3/4 oz chrome Crippled Herring metal jig. He was vertical jigging in 40 ft of water on Lake Castiac. During the 1990's, Lake Castiac was producing a great number of very large bass with the Crippled Herring. Robert Crupi ended up with two world records with the largest bass weighing 22.01 lbs. Hope this helps...Pete

capt. pete, if i'm not in error i believe the world record bass is 22.04 lbs. caught in so. ga. many moons ago.

I wouldn't worry about the smell of WD-40. Some people use it for bait --- yes really.

actually bru is almost right. before the advent of snake oil (fish attractant) you would spray your artificial bait with a large dose of wd 40 so bass could smell your bait (in my case a plastic worm). this is true, I know because I have use it.

[quote=chazman]thinking to put solar charger on trolling battery, any comments or any luck with this

i use an 18w solar panel with a 7 amp solar charge controller. i have two 100 amp batteries and the only time the batteries are not hook-up to the solar charger is when i'm fishing. the charge controller is fully auto. hope this helps.

I fish at a local pond, it's a small stagnant pond that people think has nothing in it. It's got some decent sized bass and a lot of medium sized bluegill and sunfish in it, next to it is another pond with a bunch of frogs, minnows, and baby sunfish in it. I was thinking of catching some baby sunfish/bluegill in there and using it in the other pond as bait for the bass. What would be the best way to fish the live bluegill? I plan on just letting the baby sunfish sit out there while I work another lure, what would be the best way to do that? Would a drop shot be best or should I use a bobber? Should I do the same for a worm? thanks for the help

here in so. ga. we use shiners and bluegill when live bait fishing. depending on your method of fishing e.g. trolling or still fishing, when trolling always hook the mouth and nose mouth first and when still fishing hook right behind the dorsal fin and free line your line (no cork). DO NOT set your hook early, wait until you know the bass or catfish has swallowed the bait (25'-30') after the hit. hint; a heavy duty anti-click reel will net a larger creel. i can't stress this point enough, DO NOT SET YOUR HOOK TOO EARLY!
