Large mouth bass in Southern California

Which lake in Southern California is most productive of large mouth bass?

On December 28, 1990, Los Angeles detective, Robert Crupi set a line class IGFA world record largemouth bass on a 3/4 oz chrome Crippled Herring metal jig. He was vertical jigging in 40 ft of water on Lake Castiac. During the 1990's, Lake Castiac was producing a great number of very large bass with the Crippled Herring. Robert Crupi ended up with two world records with the largest bass weighing 22.01 lbs. Hope this helps...Pete

Castaic Lake just north of Santa Clarita is a historically good lake. Also if you have a smartphone you can get an app called fishbrain and you can look up lakes on a map and it will show you catch locations , time, weather conditions, baits, and some other good stuff as well.

capt. pete, if i'm not in error i believe the world record bass is 22.04 lbs. caught in so. ga. many moons ago.
