With a nice calm morning was out by 5.30, had 1 crappie and 2 bluegill by 6, another crappie and then the catfish at 6.30.
Had plenty of taps on lures and worms with no hook ups. The catfish was the 4th lately I've caught on my brim rod.

I'd say you'd had a pretty good morning then Ronnie congratulations and thank you for the post and pictures

And just for the heads up we pulled all the ducking out of the attic so that comes with it and it also has an electric fan built into it with the speed control that blows heat into the room

No harm no foul. No, I was up at Truckee a week ago fishing up there. I've never been to Trinity, but it's on my list. I've been up to Redding several times and I've fished the Sacramento River up there, but never any of the lakes around there. Beautiful up there.

That's right spirit now it's coming back to me you did mention Truckee not Trinity like I said your post literally had me thinking you were fishing and posting like I've done before LOL have a great day I got to get back to work

I just had a fat one break me off with a Johnson Silver Minnow with a little Rootbeer colored grub trailing. First time I ever tried one of those. It sure worked.

Guys I've always had real good luck with a woolybugger - nothin fancy, just hairy. I start with black but I carry brown and olive also. I'll be adding purple, someone on here said not to neglect the purples ones. If I were gonna try a dry fly? Probably a terrestrial - a cricket or grasshopper pattern? I be guessing. I reckon it would depend on what I saw flying around out there.

Top of the afternoon to you spirit woolly bugger in those colors including purple okay I got it I do have a couple artificial crickets and grasshoppers I was going to try those as well thank you for your input Spirit have a great day back to work I go

Lil.... I was trying my best to remember the kind of fly. I don't trout fish much anymore since I became a bass addict. Maybe Spirit will read this and know. I remember him telling me he saw people using the same technique one time. I want to say Helagromite and Caddis but not sure.

Okay Steve I totally appreciate that maybe I'll pm spirit if I don't hear from them next couple days or so appreciate your input Steve have a great day thank you

For trolling, I would take along a Size 8 black and olive/black wooly bugger with a few beads and small chartreuse Mack blades. Split shot to keep it under water and troll as slow as you can go with the blade turning.

Going to have to try that one too thank you Bapa

Put on a clear bobber so it slides up and down your line and tie off on one end of a snap swivel. One the other end tie 3 ft of 4 or even 2 lb test line. At the end of this tie on a dry fly. Cast that sucker as far as you can and let it sit. Every now and then twitch you rod so your fly looks just like when a real one gets trapped on the water. Like it's vibrating on the surface. When the fly disappears under water take up the slack with your pole until you feel the fish load up your rod. Enjoy the battle!

Thank you Steve any special type of fly:?
