I went straight to work fresh out of high school at a mobile home factory in Texas in the mid 70's I was 19 strong as a bull and worked hard, I mastered cabinet making quickly being around my woodworking father all my younger life. I made lead man of the cabinet department in one year. I call the 70's The Stoned year's, because so many of the guys I worked with got drunk or stoned during the lunch break. One guy who worked with me was an example of what happens performing dangerous job's and being stoned out of your gizzard! We we're cutting 3/4 inch x 12' long x 48 in wide particleboard on an industrial table saw. We we're cutting counter top backsplash of 4 1/4 inch, which took two men to do. I pushed the board against the rip fence and my helper pushed at a slow steady pace, supposedly. He was probably doing speed at lunch and it kicked in while we were cutting the boards, when he shoved the board through like madman and pushed my left hand into the saw blade! I jerked my hand back but it stripped the flesh off my middle finger to the bone, I dropped the board and grabbed my bloody hand and wrapped with my T-shirt.. He was wide eyed and mouth gapped open.. I'm sorry 😔 There was nothing wrong with my right hand so I punched him knocking him on the floor.. You're fired! I went to the hospital and all they could do was cut the dead flesh off, clean it and wrapped. I walked around for months with a giant mummy wrapped middle finger 🤣 And I've witnessed even worse work related accidents of Co worker's. One cut off his hand on a panel saw after pulling an all night drunk when he leaned against it in hangover mode. I could keep the list of high and drunk working related injuries going. You don't do dangerous job's drunk or high or you might hurt another or kill yourself!

OK twice a year we have the debate should we just leave the clocks the same year-round and if so what should we have standard time or daylight-saving time? Of course, we don't save any daylight by messing with the clock just shift the time of day. I am in favor of keeping standard time year-round. That is the time that most closely has the sun at it's highest point at the center of the day or high noon in winter it is darker longer in the morning and earlier in the evening, but high noon remains the pretty much constant. In the summer it is lighter earlier in the morning and stays light later in the evening, but high noon is still pretty much the highest point for the sun. While shifting the day may help some people it also hurts others so let's quit picking winners and losers and just leave it year-round standard time. When the government starts messing with things like this they mess things up. What say you
