Well guys. This is gonna show you WHY we are spoiled out here Striper fishin.
We got launched by 0645 and got to the fishin grounds bout 0655. Put our lines out and right off the bat we catch our first one. Land it and go back up river a little bit and start again.
Get our lines out and BAM! Our second fish and it's not quite 0700 yet.
Well we continue to go with that pattern. Catch a fish and go back up river and start trollin again.
I could bore you with lots of details but lets just skip ahead some.
We troll for 3 hours and we've landed 44 fish. Don't know how many we've missed that came off before the boat.
Well, it's not even 1000 yet we've caught 50 fish.
We're not really ready to quit so we just keep catchin fish.
Same scenario as it's been all morning. We just kept putting fish in the boat and missed a bunch as well.
Now most ALL the fish were shorts. Anywhere from 12 to 17 1/2 inches. We were catchin a few keepers and we did end up keepin 4. They were 18 1/2, 19, 19 1/2 and 20 1/2.
We fished till 1245pm, 6 hours.
We finally just left the fish bitin and we had boated 88 fish. We had at least 15 doubles and God only knows how many fish we missed.
Alright, you ready for the math? That's averages 1 fish every 4.09 min. for 6 HOURS.
As far as fishin goes, it was bout as perfect a day as you could ask for.
Now the bad news. I get the boat home and go to flush the motor out and it won't pee. I've tried it 3 times and it fires right up and will run but it won't pee. Guess I'll have to have my mechanic fix it cause I'm not gonna keep tryin to run it with it not peeing.

But the fishin/catchin was GREAT. What a lovely day. Thanky you Lord for such a blessing. Amen.🙏

Ben and I went trollin on the Pet this morning. Got on the water bout 0730 and had our first 23 incher in the live well by 0740. Continued to catch fish all morning. We released 5 or 6 keepers and we kept 4 that were all bout 23 inches and bout 4 pounds each.
All total we caught 19 fish in 3 1/2 hours and called it a day at 1100.
I took MY boat out today and it ran beautifully. However, the steering was frozen up when we launched and we had to take it back out of the water and work on it for nearly an hour. Finally got it workin like it's suppose to.
That's what happens when you don't run your boat for 3 or 4 months. Worst thing you can do for your boat is just let it sit unused for months at a time.
That's the longest that boat has sat unused since I've owned it and that's been 16 years.
Sure gonna miss that boat when I sell it.

Well, no pictures left my cel phone in car but it didn't matter. I caught a couple of shakers not worthy of a pictures but nice no skunk...lol

It was pretty out, saw several Osprey with Striped Bass in their talons!!! Came really close to one that we sitting on a piling out on the water. It had a nice Striped Bass and struggled but did fly off as I got maybe 20 feet away. It was awesome, I wish I had cel phone to take picture of that!!!

All in all nice day out and I got to practice using the trolling motor drifting and casting along the river shore. It was also good to practice launching and loading boat by myself too. It was fairly calm, not a strong tide and very little wind. Just right for a newbie!!!

My DIL has been on bed-rest for 3 weeks in preparation for a Caesarean section which will happen in a few hours…
Katie developed complications during the pregnancy which prevented natural childbirth, so this is the plan. She is in a great hospital with a good plan in place, so is in good hands. I am amazed at the developments in health care as compared to only 30 years ago when my kids were born.
Just wanted to ask for a few prayers, kind thoughts, positive vibes, whatever you think may help to protect Katie and my new Grandson through this.
This lure was given to me on the day they announced that they were pregnant.
