If it’s a good rod, then you probably won’t feel the difference.

I never had a bad hook on a lure.
On flies, yes, but never a lure.

You can buy a great rod for $400.00 but will it catch more fish than the $200.00 rod, probably not.
Will be be lighter, probably, will it have better graphite ,probably, better components, probably....All these extras add up to more money.
Bottom line is your pocketbook. Are all the extras worth an extra $200.00 bucks.Only you can make that answer.

Rfishingnet, an Ugly Stik is not stiff.
They have a terrible action.
Have you ever fished a St.Croix or a G.Loomis or a Falcon?
Even a decent Berkeley rod and then after you do, then tell me you would rather fish an Ugly Stik. They are junk.

Don’t know much about the Fiblink rod,ok style used in saltwater jigging or sufffishing.
Components look good and has a nice handle for the surf fisherman.
Price is about &55.00 to $60.00 lightweight and carries a one year warranty.

Secondly, I have been in the tackle business for over thirty years and know what I am talking about.
I have been to factories where they manufacture rods, some of the finest made.
If you want to buy a rod that will probably never break, they buy an Ugly Stik.If you want a fishing tool with good graphite cork grips and twice as light, then buy a decent rod for a few bucks more.
Take care of it and it will last as long as your Ugly Stik and you will be much happier with your purchase.

They are made out of the cheapest materials, they are heavy with little sensitive, EVA foam grips that get wet and slippery and slimy.
They are very hard to break but so is a telephone pole, so would you like to fish with a telephone pole.
Spend a few bucks more and buy a decent graphite rod.
I have been saying this for a long time on this website and always get an argument from many about Ugly Stik’s.Fishing rods are like tools, pay a few bucks more and you will be better off in the long run.
Buy once cheap and you will buy again.

My advice and I am sure to hear some flack about it, is not to buy an Ugly Stik, they are junk.

I guess I am the oddball.
Right hand and right retrieving.
Been using a bait caster for so long and when I started they never made a left hand retrieve, so after many years of use, I could not get use to the left hand retrieve.

10 pounders are few and far in between no matter where you go.
Okeechobee with live shiners would be your best bet.Stick Marsh was the hot spot for a few years but have not heard anything about it lately.

Depends on the species you are going after and since I have no desire for off shore fishing, I would have to pick Canada for my most rewarding fresh water experience.
LMB,SMB and Pike fishing are outstanding.

A fly line is a fly line, just get the one that you can afford.
Go have fun and just make sure it is a 3wt or nothing more than a 4wt. line that you purchase....I am sure you are talking about a floating line.
