I am right handed and use both, but it only occurred to me about 3 years ago to purchase left handed reels to match my spinning gear. No need to switch hands after the cast. My RH reels may be passed on to the kids

Exactly what I did OJ. Only a couple right hand reels left on trolling rods. Hard to give up the old Penns!

Left retrieve and I’m right handed. Most people that are right handed use spinning reels with left hand retrieve, why switch it up? I have used right hand baitcasters and for me it is extremely awkward.
I am ambidextrous, so I switch out all the time. Sometimes even switch the crank on a spinning reel if it's suitable for a guest. If I am fishing in a boat, I will cast with the off side of another fisherman just for safety. I have never owned a bait casting reel that was left hand retrieve, but the next one I purchase will be. I'm getting the impression that many rightness have taken to using the left hand crank on bc's. I know I have, but all my salt bottom bouncers are still right retrieve.
LH retrieve. Right handed

Me too. Right handed, left retrieve.
I guess I am the oddball.
Right hand and right retrieving.
Been using a bait caster for so long and when I started they never made a left hand retrieve, so after many years of use, I could not get use to the left hand retrieve.

Both mostly right. Im right handed. Spinning reels all left hand
Left.... I am right handed. Never made sense to cast with your right hand and switch hands on the retrieve. You will find most tournament fisherman use a left hand retrieve. Saves time and you will get more casts during a tournament.
