No. I eat crappie and catfish.
Unless you just don't have one at all, save up for one of the new Shimano Curado or Diawa zillion baitcasting reels and plan on spending a little over $100 for a good rod such as Falcon rods. Used reels are out there, but a risk is always involved. Try to get a test before purchase or from a vendor that will stand behind their used ones. If you could put away $50 a month, it won't be long before you can have a nice setup.

It seems to me we are discussing tackle more than anything else in fishing. That being said here is my two cents on tackle: I don't shop Dicks because they are so dang expensive; Wal-Mart's stock sucks most of the time(because corporate does all the ordering) and their recent parking in this Covid mess is and making me want to avoid them; Basspro is within 2 miles and good if they happen to have a sale on what I need and I can find an associate to help me find it; at Academy as I can seldom find a free associate that knows anything and their online stock sucks; Amazon usually has what I need but their prime shipping has not been dependable of late; Discount Tackle is good if I buy enough to get free shipping otherwise I don't save any money. There are no local bait stores. Sound like a gripe old man? Yep.

Welcome to the stage! I am a Texan stuck in OK since 79. Actually Texas has gotten so liberal, I am glad to be here. You are in a great location. Belton used to be a great lake, but I am not familiar with Stillhouse lake. I c that they are both close to The city of Belton.
