We had this old mobile home sitting in our pasture that a fellow was going to pay me $500.00 for. Just been waiting for him to come get it, and pay me.
Yesterday evening, a little storm rolled through, stole my money, and turned my gain into a big loss.
Personally, I think it must have been a brief tornado touchdown. Why else would debris go 3 different directions, with cross ties, and fence posts snapped off at ground level?

Thank the Good Lord nothing else was harmed!!

This is my 9 year old granddaughter she just cannot pass the opportunity to go fishing even if shes wearing her new dress. I have said it before she loves to fish and she’s good at it. I’m pretty sure there’s been days she’s even out fished her pop pop.

If I read the Regs correctly, a non-resident license is $50, but don’t tell anyone as we will be overrun with FS folks! 😂😉

HelloTHE WAR OF 1812 AT WAL-MART

Yesterday, I wore my Vietnam Veteran cap to Wal-Mart. There was nothing in particular that I needed at the world's largest retailer; but, since I retired, trips to "Wally World" to look at the Walmartians is always good for some comic relief. Besides, I always feel pretty normal after seeing some of the people that frequent the establishment. But, I digress, enough of my psychological fixations.

While standing in line to check out, the guy in front of me, probably in his early thirties, asked, "Are you a Viet Nam Vet?”

"No," I replied.

"Then why are you wearing that cap?”

"Because I couldn't find the one from the War of 1812 . .

” I thought it was a snappy retort.

"The War of 1812, huh?" the Walmartian queried, "When was that?”

God forgive me, but I couldn't pass up such an opportunity.

"1946", I answered, as straight-faced as possible.

He pondered my response for a moment and responded, "Why do they call it the War of 1812 if it was in 1946?”

"It was a Black Op Mission. No one is supposed to know about it.

” This was beginning to become fun!

"Dude! Really?" He exclaimed. "How did you get to do something that COOOOL?”

I glanced furtively around me for effect, leaned toward the guy and in a low voice said, "I'm not sure. I was the only Caucasian on the mission.”

"Dude," he was really getting excited about what he was hearing, "that is seriously awesome! But, didn't you kind of stand out?”

"Not really. The other guys were wearing white camouflage.”

The moron nodded knowingly.

"Listen man," I said in a very serious tone, "You can't tell anyone about this. It's still classified 'Top Secret' and I shouldn't have said anything.”

"Oh yeah?" he gave me the 'don't threaten me look. . "Like, what's gonna’ happen if I do?”

With a really hard look I said, "You have a family don't you?

We wouldn't want anything to happen to them, would we?”

The guy gulped, left his basket where it was and fled through the door.

The lady behind me started laughing so hard I thought she was about to have a heart attack. I just grinned at her. After checking out and going to the parking lot, I saw dimwit leaning in a car window talking to a young woman.

Upon catching sight of me, he started pointing excitedly in my direction.

Giving him another 'deadly' serious look, I made the 'I see you' gesture.

He turned kind of pale, jumped in the car and sped out of the parking lot.

And these people VOTE!

What a great time! Tomorrow I'm going back, wearing my Homeland Security cap.

Then the next day I will go to the driver's license bureau wearing my Border Patrol hat, and see how long it takes to empty the place.

Whoever said retirement is boring? You just need to wear the right kind of cap!

See you guys at Wal-Mart!! 😜🤫🤫

I just hope I’m gone, before the wife finds all my tackle and figures out how much money I/we spent. That might have a bearing on what kinda services I end up with.

I drove truck for almost 30 years and I’ve seen my share of homeless and ones I liked to call workers. Once you see them in so many different cities they stand out the workers are the more aggressive people. The true homeless regardless of how they arrived at that point in life will always appreciate a hand up!

My son is a Washington State boy who now lives in Connecticut. He told me that the Game Department refuses to acknowledge that they have any Mountain Lions in the State. Even though people have pictures and video to prove it....and like you pointed out, one killed by a car.

We are starting to get pictures of them in ny but it’s the same thing the DEC said yup that’s a mountain lion and left it at that.

I grunted this bad boy in last fall. I had him on trail cams so I knew he was around. Some times it all just comes together.
I got the mountain lion the week before from the same clear cut. It was chasing some does that I was watching. It was like watching a nature documentary on tv but in real life.
Sorry, all I have are pics from the field. I don’t have either back from the taxidermist yet.

They are some great pictures that’s a really nice buck. The lion is something we don’t have around here lol. But there was one hit by a car in Connecticut a few years back. they tracked it from out west all the way until some lady hit it with her car.

I butcher , grind and cube also. Make summer sausage and snack sticks but never tried bacon

Ground bacon is easy, I mail order the spice for it though. then I grind meat and pork fat at a 75% venison 25% pork fat. I use bellies or jowls so they have a little meat. after I grind it I lay it flat on my smoker great about 1 inch thick. Let it set 48 hours then smoke it at 180-190* until it reaches 160* internal. take it out let it cool I run it through my slicer put it in one pound packs Vacuum seal it and freeze it.

if you’re interested I’ll pm you the company I get the spices from I just didn’t wanna get anyone made at me for mentioning a company name or thinking I was advertising for them.
