Well, if 30-40 years ago if you asked people if they wanted the Government to know where they were at any time, they would have said NO! But now everyone has a Cell Phone, so guess what? LOL

Looks like more fishermen than fish there. Also looks more like a canal than a lake.

If you wanna shell out the big bucks for a Bubba knife they're nice.
However, if you just want a good fillet knife the old Rapala fillet knife is a great knife. There are several other brands that work well that you don't have to spend a bundle on. I also have a white handled Shakespeare fillet knife that I really like.
Look up Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog and look up fillet knives. They have dozens at good prices.

I feel it is really nice to have a site where you can not only learn good fishing tricks and teach others ones you have learned, but find good people as well.

In 2000 I was at the Wichita Falls Texas boating expo downtown at the event center with my then fiance Mom Dad and brother's, they had carnival rides and games in the parking lot. My wife and I were walking to the door to get tickets when this lady in a booth yelled come try your luck at the Dime Toss for this $1,000 Crystal punch bowl set, now I'm not really into that kind of stuff but my mom my lady friend with me certainly would, so I pluck out 10 dimes out of my pocket tossed three dimes toward the goal which was a shot glass in the center of the bottom of the punch bowl sitting on top of a board with all the other Crystal cups glasses shot glasses and goblets surrounding the punch bowl when I toss the three dime over into the punch bowl one hit the target. The lady look dumbfounded not expecting somebody to win the prize so soon, the lady inside the booth started looking for reasons to disqualify me but luckily the city manager wasn't too far from the booth and she said absolutely not he won it, give him his prize! That thing come in handy for 25 years of Christmas parties punch and eggnog.

In 1966, my ship pulled into Bandole France. We were there during Bastille Day. There was a carnival there in the town. One of the "Tests of Skill" was a shooting gallery. 5 shots for 1 Franc for to just shoot or 5 shots for 5 Francs and you could chose a bottle of wine if you shot 5 for 5 of the clay pipes.
Tried it for 1 Franc and found that the sights were good on the .22 rifle.
For an hour I and another guy were shooting the Clay Pipe Bowls for the wine for shipmates and even the town people. LOL When not shooting for the wine, for 1 Franc we would shoot the stems of the clay pipes after shooting the bowls off when not shooting for the wine. 1 Franc at that time was about a quarter US.
When I went over 2 days later the guy had shut down. The distance was only about 10 feet to the targets.
Our shipmates wanted the the big bottles of white wine and the Town people wanted the smaller bottles of red wine. I guess that the French people didn't know how to shoot rifles that good. LOL

That's right up there with the real meaning of the "Peace Symbol" sign.

"Foot Print of the Great American Chicken"

When that came out the use of the sign stopped for years. LOL

Well tried going out to Fort Armistead. Road blocked off by the police. Went to the other side of Harbor hospital and had on good bite that got off. As I grabbed the rod while the drag was screaming and then nothing.
But even a day without fish beats having to do "Honey Do's". LOL Still would rather been catching, buts that's OK.
Forgot the reel has a 12 LB Drag and 20 LB Braid.

With all the work being done on the Key Bridge, I'm hoping that the Cat fish have come out of the channel.
I'll find out. Fishing is still better than sitting at home, but I'd rather be catching.

Went ultralight jigging in 58 degree Carnegie Lake this evening on a cold, sunny day with a moderate west wind. Caught and released 3 largemouth bass, 2 yellow perch, 2 bluegills, a black crappie and a red breasted sunfish with a 1/32 oz Temu twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. 12 other fishermen caught nothing. Catching warm water fish in cold water is very difficult.

But it was still a good day!
