I'm right-handed and have never owned a right-handed bait caster. They're unnatural for right-handers. I'd watch the right-handed "pros" on TV cast with their right hands and then have to switch the rod to their left hand to reel. It just never made any sense to me.

I have a number of Rapala X-Raps. They work well, but a lot of it is technique too. I've also had brand new X-Raps explode into pieces as soon as they hit the water after a cast. All I got back was the split ring and the nose of the Rapala.

I have a small and a large tackle bag. My large bag holds plastic tackle boxes. I have several of those with different tackle setups for each bag. Each bag is for a different type of fishing - crankbaits, topwater, jigs, jerkbaits, and so on. I swap them out as needed.

My small bag is for soft plastics and that is mostly what I fish, but I do have some crank baits I like to use as search baits. I have the soft plastics divided up into larger ziplock bags for worms, grubs, creature baits, dropshot baits, frogs and trailers. I also keep a small plano-style box in there with tackle - hooks, o-rings for wacky rigging, jigheads, weights. I keep a left-handed glove on top for lipping bass. It beats shredding my thumb on raspy bass tongues during a tournament.

I also have a separate canvas zippered bag I carry my spinnerbaits in. It has plastic ziplock envelopes in it and that keeps the baits nicely organized.

Yes, but not because some people like to go skinny dipping.

There was no camping at Paleface Park.

I won't buy St, Croix rods anymore because of their warranty. If you have a warranty issue they want you to send the entire rod back, not just the handle. Might as well throw the warranty in the trash because it is almost cheaper just to buy a new rod.

If you fish by Pale Face Park you can catch naked people. How's the visibility in those limey waters?

Much nicer than the spinners with the open wire because the makers are too cheap to put a closed loop on the wire.

A bent rod is like a spring that the fish has to fight against. Use the bend and keep tension on the line. Reel in line when you lower the rod.

Maybe nice for commuting, but not for traveling. I live in New Hampshire. If I want to visit relatives in Sarasota, FL it is almost 1500 miles. That is 23 hours of driving, so a two day trip. If I have an electric car (EV) and can get 250 miles per 8 hour charge, and am also able to get an extra 100 mile bump from a quick 35 minute charge at 50KW charging stations along the way, it is still going to take me 4 days to make the trip.

EV's suck. The only reasonable alternative to a petroleum-fueled vehicle is a hybrid because it has a gasoline engine. We're being sold a load of bull puckey.

Nickel-cadmium batteries are inferior to lithium batteries. Nicads develop a "memory" over time that reduces the amount of charge they will hold and it is important to run them all the way down before recharging. Lithium batteries do not have a memory, but they will still wear out over time. All those electric car suckers are going to learn this the hard way when they have to pay thousands of dollars to replace the batteries in their cars.

Wright & McGill and Shimano make very good affordale rods. I no longer buy Le Croix because of their warranty policies.

It looks to me like the microprocessor is controlling a feedback current to the same coils that generate the power to apply braking a current to the reel, but that is just my best guess. The DC is a very nice reel, but so is a regular Curado. I own both and I love fishing with both of them.

The reel is a generator. It generates electricity when it spins to power the circuitry.

I have mine set on 2 and I don't typically change it, even if I change lures. I just use my thumb to control the spin rate until I am used to the way the new lure is casting.
