That exact thing has happened to me as that was the best price for hearing aids and all the old codgers know it so it was just a matter of time I would run into a church member there. Both of us were getting repairs done so we didn't have much of a conversation. They make you take your hearing aids out to get a hair cut so I tell the barber if he wants to have any small talk lets get it done before we start. Lost a lot of my hearing in a very noisy work environment and a hell of a lot more because of chemo.

I mostly have myself to blame. Too much loud music as a teenager in the 70's. Also shot guns all of my life and didn't start wearing hearing protection until way too late in the game. I'm a bit skeptical of the devices I'm getting from CostCo but, like you say, best price around. I don't have insurance coverage for them anymore so it's all out of my pocket. I hope the work out. I pick them up next Sunday afternoon.

I got my second pair from COSTCO about 6 months ago. They work better than my first ones which were top of the line, and at half the price.

I've been wearing Oticon devices for about 5 or 6 years now. I'm getting Phillips. $2k compared to almost $6k for the Oticons. Hopefully they will work well. They are Bluetooth, which I would have a hard time living without. My biggest concern is that they are rechargeable. I've never been a huge fan of rechargeable stuff. The charge seems to degrade after a little while.

The recharge stuff I don't much like. How many times can you charge them is the question to which no one will give you an answer. You don't get many charges on cheap stuff. I got a drill, beautiful, from Harbor freight and it lasted about 50 charges then it was done. You see all the cheap hearing aids advertised and they don't last very long. My hearing aids from Costco were good for 3 years they fixed anything that went wrong and serviced them every time you went in. I really like them. When the 3 years were up one went bad and they gave me the option to buy a new one at 1/4 the original price. Great service.

Me too Jim. I'm on 50% service connected disability for my hearing from the VA and I really seem to like these new ones I got from the VA. They're rechargeable and Bluetooth also. At least I wear these. The ones I had from them before, I never wore. Didn't like them.

Please if you need hearing aids wear them. I recently lost my 2nd grandmother to dimensia. I’ve researched it a lot and there is a ton of evidence that untreated hearing loss speeds up the onset and progression of it. Brain knows it should hear but doesn’t fills in the gaps. Basically adds to the cruel short circuiting that dimensia is. I remember the day Grandma refused to keep her new hearing aids because they cost to much!!! She got worse so much faster than my other grandma who wore hers for 20 years. I like you seasoned fellows on here. Wear those aids and spend the money!!!

I haven't worn my hearing aids much for the past year. Every time I try to take my mask off, the hearing aids get yanked out. My glasses get in the way, too. Sometimes the hearing aids remain hanging on my ear, sometimes they go flying, and sometimes they just fall to the ground. Way too much hassle. I'll be SO glad when this China virus is in the rearview mirror!

I got mine free from the VA. I was a crew chief on fighter jets, those engines make a lot of noise and quite a bit of it is ultrasonic: it's high energy (damaging) even when you don't think that the noise that you CAN hear is too loud.

My Mother in-law wouldn't even consider hearing aids. It was because of her vanity, she wouldn't admit that she needed anything. I couldn't convince her that there are aids that are nearly invisible. Sure was hard to have a conversation with her, she was nearly deaf for her last ten years.

I had the same problem with the mask. They make them that use 2 bands or you can put a connector for the ear loops so your ears aren't holding them on.
