There are also the Nehalem River out by Vernonia ,the Clackamas out by Estacada and the Sandy River
near Troutdale all of which are short driving distance from Scapoose.

Make sure you check the regs a lot of fish cannot be kept due to the red tide die off. Check with your local tackle shops and or guides.
In the Columbia you can catch salmon,steelhead,smallmouth bass,walleye,.plus you have small lakes that hold pretty good trout. Kidney lake in Bonneville used to be good for rainbows. Good luck!
Up by the John Day and McNary Dams back bouncing worm rigs and trolling slowly thru the heavy structure. Lots of rock and boulders they will be hanging on down river side. Good luck.

Only one weekend this year you can keep them the rest of the year is catch and release. I miss having a big plate of sturgeon mixed with pride of the west beer badder. Mmmm good.

Exactly Bottomcoon that is what I was talking about in an earlier reply. PVC pipe , thats what I would do and save a boat load of money!
PVC pipe with a threaded end so you can unscrew one end to get them out. Seen them transported like that before, works really well.
