Congratulations to Bobby Lane! He won $300,000 fishing in the championship round at the MLF Redcrest on Grand Lake yesterday. It was an exciting finish, with Bobby catching a 2 pounder at the last moment to give him the win.

I never knew releasing a fish had so much drama.

Welcome Sal52. Have not fished Thunderbird. I am in northeast Oklahoma and fish almost exclusively on Grand Lake. Fishing for LM has not been good for me so far this winter/spring. Have been using mostly senkos and fishing slow and will occasionally pick up a fish. Will get much better very soon as water temps rise. Currently we are in the upper 30's to low 40's depending on where you are on the lake. Good luck!

Lik I posted before. I just started a new job. Walked in like I knew what the F I’m doing. Well I cot em convinced.
Day one they told me $5 k bonus for every engineer I could recommend for their recruitment program.
Well I could have em 20 names and let them sort it out , but I didn’t go that route.
I’ve been doing this a long time. And I narrowed it down to 4 people I’d like to work with. These folk are A. Know their stuff B are dedicated enough to get off their butt and make it happen. I like working with folk like that.
Hire all 4 , I pay off my boat and get a bigger better Lund at the same payment. Win win

Well first one is African American female . Older. Took 10 years to get her bachelors degree. Read between the lines here. Determined young lady. Working in a field that is mostly white dudes . That’s a hard fact and I’m extra proud of her for that fact .
She blew the HR managers mind on the phone interview. Just like I knew she would.
In person interview on the 21st.
Unless she completely blows it , she’s in and I collect 5 grand for giving them an exceptional young professional.

Now to this. I yanked my pension from my old job. Chinese owned company and Russia might start lobbing nukes and the stock market is taking a major dump. I want my money where I can see it
More financial security than I’ve ever had. And this new company is paying me stupid amounts of money. And my wife just got some things with her fathers passing . So I’m not worried about buying groceries anymore. If you get my drift

I may have $5 k laying around.
I’m thinking of upgrading my front depth finder to Garmin panoptics and parking the rest in savings.

Anyone use Garmin panoptics and give me me real world opinions.

Or I could go Lowrance livescope and sync it with my motor guide Xi5. And make a total package.
Any advice would sure be appreciated.

Hi Ben, I have the Lawrence HDS Live on my boat and have been happy with it. The only negative I have is about once a week when I turn it on, it does not sync up and I have to shut it down and restart. Only takes a few minutes but it is annoying. I live in the north east corner of Oklahoma and it may be a satellite reception issue, but I do not have problems with other devices.

Thanks Ben, excellent article and gave me a lot to think about. Have trolled for trout in lakes and salmon in the Pacific, but have not thought about trolling for bass. Will give it a try. You also mentioned direction of presentation and in my limited experience experience with bass fishing (less than a year) have been amazed how true it is. There is one spot on Grand Lake that usually shows fish and I can cast to the east, west, and south and not get a bite. Don't know why, but casting the same lure to the north works. So much to learn!

Needed to fill up today and the second cartoon is so true. If prices keep going up, it will be a $100 bill for a tank of gas and I live in Oklahoma where gas prices are better than most states.

Good morning and Happy New Year! I retired on Feb 28, 2020 and two weeks later the world shut down with the pandemic. Not the way I planned to start my retirement. About the same time I found this group! What a blessing! I look forward to seeing everyone’s post each day. I enjoy the pictures, the stories, the jokes, and the advise I get. So to each of you I hope you set your PB for what ever you are fishing for and stay safe. I look forward to a great 2022 for each of us.

Happy New Year to you too! Sounds like a lot of us had to change plans after retirement because of covid. I look forward to the posts everyday also, appreciate the fishing insights, and am amazed at the talent, artistic ability, stories, and great advice you all give.

RJ, you took all the wind out of my sails! Any day now, I'm expecting to get a HUGE check from a Nigerian prince, and I'd planned to invest it at 9.75%!

Now, I have to do some digging to figure out what to do with all that $$ I'll be getting from the Nigerian prince! ...or do I???

Apollo, tell me more about that bridge!

P.T. Barnum was right! There's another one born every minute. Maybe even more than one!

Hi Barnacles! It's a nice bridge and the price is right! Seriously though, it is fantastic that we have people on the Fishing Stage that give a heads up when they see something questionable. Much appreciated!

Good advice RJS! If you believe someone will give you 9.75%, I have a bridge for sale.
