If I'd never been in the military, I very likely would have never seen a Jawa, or even known that it's a motorcycle.
Here's a couple of more brands that I don't think I've seen mentioned: De Lorean, Moto Guzzi, Saab, Bricklin, and Alva. A friend had an Alva, it was a sports car and I've never seen another one. Any of you wizards know where they were made?

Alva sounded British to me so I googled it and up came Elva, with an "E". They were lightweight sports and racing cars with under 2 liter engines--except for the McLaren version with your choice of Chevy, Ford or Oldsmobile V8 power!
